And watches quietly as we all in this country are raped and pillaged of our freedom.

Within minutes of Long’s assassination, someone in Baton Rouge (newspaper reporter, I think) received a phone call from Washington that Long had been shot. I think it was twelve minutes.

one thing that Long did, he made government work

Huey Long was a rank leftist demagogue disguised as a "populist." He was a petty tyrant with great ambitions to become a major-league tyrant.

If you think that Huey Long made government "work" there is no surprise that you support Donald Trump. If the disgraceful populist career of Huey Long in Louisiana is your model, I'm sure you'll be very happy with what happens to America under Donald Trump.

I prefer the shining image on the hill of Ronald Reagan who knew the limitations of government and who also knew the limitations of men.

In about 10,000 replies I have never even contemplated filing an abuse complaint before but you have come perilously close with this outrageous statement:

And you can take the "conservatives are fools" meme and shove them up your arrogant ass.

I will let the reader decide if they are attracted to Donald Trump and Huey Long and want to be like the kind of people who are attracted to Donald Trump and Huey Long.

GB gave us “compassionate conservatism” to give us a politically correct, watered-down, very expensive version of the real thing.

GWB was a leftwing, big government crony socialist who (with Ted Kennedy) immediately pushed more Federal control over education, imposed open borders/no borders, gave us a leftist on SCOTUS (Dread Pirate Roberts) and tried hard to push another (Harriet Myers) on us, too.

GWB was/is a traitor to America and our Constitution.

“Barbara Pierce Bush, a descendant of Franklin Pierce...”

You made me curious so I looked it up. According to her Wikipedia bio she is not a descendent, although she and Franklin share the same ancestor (fourth cousin four removed).

Normally, family unity is praiseworthy but in this case I think that George W. Bush plays the hypocrite. He is the president who would scarcely fight his own corner as an incumbent and who witnessed carnage in the ranks of Republicans in Congress as a result.

The carnage was a direct result of supporting unpopular GOPe policies which Bush fully endorsed. If Bush had gone out and campaigned he might have made it worse.

“I prefer the shining image on the hill of Ronald Reagan who knew the limitations of government and who also knew the limitations of men.”

A normal person knows men have limitations, and you trot the concept out as if it is a new discovery. Have you just discovered that concept. Does your man Cruz have any limitations?

“In about 10,000 replies I have never even contemplated filing an abuse complaint before but you have come perilously close with this outrageous statement:

You call all the supporters of Trump “fools” and you want to file an abuse complaint on me. Good luck with that.

“I will let the reader decide if they are attracted to Donald Trump and Huey Long and want to be like the kind of people who are attracted to Donald Trump and Huey Long.”

That is effeminate, to say the least. I’ll let the reader decide if they want to be like the kind of person who stoops to the guilt by association deception.

I am the kind of person who was attracted to Ronald Reagan. Huey Long was before my time. My grandfather and his generation loved him.

When it comes to Huey Long, you don’t know what you are talking about. Your descriptive language of Long reminds me of what Franklin Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln were. You need to consult Carl Sandburg.

I voted for George Bush twice and George W Bush twice. I think it was the right thing to do considering the other choices at the the time. However, I have come to loathe the Bush family. The father handed the Presidency off to Bill Clinton the rapist, and the son handed it off to Obama socialist douche.

If they weren’t willing to speak up while their successors’ were wrecking the country, I’m certainly not interested in hearing from them now. Please, Bushes, just go away.

Her father was a magazine publisher. So she’s too far removed to be a Pierce descendant. There is a Pierce house in Concord, NH, open to the public, but it was closed when I was there in 2014.

Before you said:

Being a native of Louisiana, Huey Long had his shortcomings, but one thing that Long did, he made government work. That is why he was murdered.

As though citing special knowledge by virtue of your geographical proximity.

Now you say:

Huey Long was before my time. My grandfather and his generation loved him As if begging excuse for ignorance by virtue of your removal in time.

Which is it? Do you know what you're talking about are not?

Guilt by association implies that there is a connection between a known guilty party and the person being assailed. I do not allege guilt by association I allege you are guilty because you have proven out of your own mouth that you are a fool and because you are as boorish (this time you called me "effeminate") as Donald Trump.

“My impression is that if GWB wanted to help Jeb get elected he would have been more involved already.”

I don’t know about that. I got the impression that both George W and his father thought they were being classy and traditional when they both chose to “stay above politics” after leaving office. In fact, they always made a point to stay quiet while their successors, Clinton and Obama, proceeded to harm the country.

I wish that Bill Clinton would have similarly disappeared, and we can look forward to Obama chiming in about whatever Black Lives Matter nonsense every 5 minutes for the next 40 years.

Let me see:

1. I said that Huey Long made government work. He is given credit for that by historians in Louisiana. Proximity does help people understand better; it helps if one is on the scene.

2. Huey Long was before my time. I am not an expert on Huey Long. But I am familiar with what the old people use to say about him. They all loved him. He did, in fact, help out the “common man” immensely. I am not “begging excuse” for anything. And, I am sure I know more about him than you do, based on your slur from your original post.

“Guilt by association implies that there is a connection between a known guilty party and the person being assailed.”

So why would you connect me with Trump and Huey Long, a person you had just denigrated in harsh terms, and ask if people want to be aligned with someone like me who likes both?

“I allege you are guilty because you have proven out of your own mouth that you are a fool”

There is the “fool” accusation again. Nothing I have written qualifies me for a fool. It does not approach calling conservative who support Trump “fools”.

I used the effeminate dig because you come off like a liberal having a hissy fit, by forcing a loaded and false comparison, which is what liberals like to do. I, of course, know nothing about you; only that you usually have good points except when it comes to Trump. Then you become irrational.

I wonder if he will comment about how much he hates Trump, as he did with Cruz. And I am sure I am just singing with the choir when I ask when he ever came out against anything Lord Foul has done, also I can’t recall(mainly because I have trouble recalling last week, did W ever campaign or express support for Romney against Lord Foul?

“The reactionary is always willing to take a progressive attitude on any issue that is dead.”

Theodore Roosevelt

So goes George Bush in the name of familial blood.
I understand, but their time is as Carter’s.
Elder statesmen and power brokers.

“It is really disheartening and disillusioning.”

It is and those are the ones in control, not the good people that just don’t realize it, somehow it hasn’t arrived on their doorstep to make it real to them yet but it will arrive, it is coming, I just wish those that will see would hurry up and wake up,
