I liked George W. Bush much more when he was chopping wood.

Tagline material!

Jeb ran as “Jeb!” in his first gubernatorial race in Florida in the 90’s, so that’s not new or to escape the Bush name. That was after 41 but before 43. But I agree W coming out to help looks a little desperate especially after Mom trudged through the snow to secure a fourth place finish in NH.

"The Daughters of the Republic of Texas versus George P. Bush trial starts in less than 2 weeks.

I am hoping for Bush to be charged with Contempt of Court and spend at least a few days in jail.

It may be the only taste of justice he ever receives.

George P is trying to loot the private Alamo artifact collection of the DRT so he can “lend” the artifacts to Carlos Slim and other Bush family benefactors back in Mexico.

To hell with George P. Bush and deport him back to Mexico!

"He, like everybody else in America, is taken aback," Johnson said.

Well, not everybody in America is clinging to the to the banister and clutching their pearls, but I can believe the Kennebunkport Influence Peddlers and their fellow global elites are "taken aback."

Getting the Bush brand back to where it can seriously trade favors for big money is going to be a tall order, what with Jeb(!) stinking up the room and Obama cutting the military to the point where there's nobody left for the Bushes and McCains to rent to the Saudis. Dubya has his work cut out for him.

GWB:

*Signed the No Child Left Behind Act reauthorizing the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and supporting standards-based education reform.
*Signed the USA PATRIOT Act enhancing law enforcement investigatory tools related to terrorism, and established the Department of Homeland Security.
* Enacted Medicare Part D into law and vetoed State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) legislation expanding federally funded health care benefits.
* Implemented several free trade agreements that screwed the american worker.
* Championed comprehensive immigration reform.

He was nothing short of a failure IMO.

There are only two people who are running on principles, Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders. All the other candidates, from Trump to Bush to Kasich to Clinton, are attempting to sell themselves primarily on pragmatism, something like, “Vote for me, I can make it work.” Each of the selling-as-pragmatists defines “make it work” differently, but the generic message is the same—and Trump is the one who is selling himself as The Fixer most effectively.

While Bin Laden was preparing for 9/11, George W. Bush was preparing to give Amnesty to Illegal Mexicans:

Two-months before 9/11:

BUSH AIDES WEIGH LEGALIZING STATUS OF MEXICANS IN U.S. (July 15, 2001)

U.S. considers residency for illegal Mexicans [2001]

The Bush administration is considering a proposal to give the more than 3 million illegal Mexican nationals in the United States legal status to remain, senior administration officials said Monday.

The officials said the idea is just one of several proposals contained in a report due on President Bush’s desk this week. The issue also is likely to be considered at a meeting between Bush and Mexican President Vicente Fox, scheduled for September.

Did anyone notice this way down in the article:

‘Previously unreported, however, is that the former first lady also worked the phones on her son’s behalf. As her friends knocked on doors in New Hampshire last weekend, if they found an undecided voter, they would call the family matriarch back in Houston and put her on the phone. In many cases, she sealed the deal.’

Can’t you just see Jeb! dealing with Putin that way?!?!

Very good point.

I have been arguing for some time that Donald Trump has been painting both Republicans and Democrats as "incompetent" even though the problem is clearly ideology because Donald Trump does not want anybody looking at Donald Trump's ideology.

Donald Trump doesn't have an ideology apart from the advancement of Donald Trump and he certainly, if president, does not want to be fettered to any ideology or to the Constitution itself. Rather, Trump wants full reign to advance his personal whims.

Those conservatives on these threads who once believed, "government is not the solution, government is the problem" are fools if they think that their hero, Donald Trump, can make government work. This is the siren of the man on horseback, this is the siren Huey long, this is the myth of Camelot, this is hail Caesar and Sieg heil.

A good question was asked: For the past 7 years, Obamination has been usurping the powers of the other branches and getting away with it. (A major reason is because the congressional leadership is too timid and craven to stop him.) Why hasn't the Bush family spoken out against Obamination’s abuse of executive power? That is, ruling through Executive Orders and bypassing Congress and ignoring the Judiciary. They [both GHWB and GWB] took an oath to support and defend the Constitution and it is under attack by he current POTUS. I guess oaths mean nothing to our modern politicians.

Maybe all the Bushes are not confused at all but just stymied in their pursuit of liberalism.
