Almost all American billionaires are philanthropists. At last count, 141 of them have pledged to give half their wealth away. Warren Buffett is giving 95% away. Bill Gates is giving 99%. I’m sure it will be much better spent than if it were in the hands of bureaucrats in Washington, D.C.

Maybe. But giving away money IS THE PROBLEM.

As I said. People bear an onus. They reap the results of dalliances with demons.

They are not the demons, nor are they more powerful than the demons in themselves.

ONLY the power of Christ (revealed as Jesus in these last days) can break the bond between a man and a demon.

This is elementary gospel 101. I am not making up a cock and bull story, like you are, that humans somehow actually create their demons.

When willed parsimony becomes the solution, I really wonder what the problem is.

The real difference is voluntary vs. non-voluntary. Sometimes people will give to foolish things. Warren Buffet often does. But if voluntary, then people are also free to give to things that are not foolish.

Just want to say that I appreciate that you can be open about your choices in life, in the past, and how you had an awakening based on your experiences. Persons who would take issue with that, or attempt to degrade you for it, are small.

By and large, people in Denmark do not demonize the rich. They don't think that successful people are the reason why average incomes aren't higher. Nor are they clamoring to confiscate the wealth of those at the top of the income ladder.

Not really a fair comparison. Social Democratic parties and policies have been entrenched in Scandinavia for decades, so of course, Socialists there talk differently from Socialists here.

Bernie has a lot of ideas rattling around in his head. And what he believed back in the Sixties and Seventies will come back to haunt him. But right now, after three decades in electoral politics he most likely is more like a European Social Democrat than a Marxist or Communist. If he's got a populist edge, well, welcome to America.

I admire those who are chaosing; there is no way I could bring myself to vote for Bernie, Hillary, or O’Malley.

Sanders has managed to pull Hillary Clinton in the direction of this same world view. For example, she has repeatedly claimed that "the deck is stacked," with "the wealthy getting wealthier at the expense of hard-working families."

Yeah, Hillary, remember that the next time you're at some state university pulling down a quarter of million bucks for a half hour speech to a hand-picked crowd, at the expense of the hard working families who send their kids to a state university.
