I bet most of the early church was “like Joel Osteen.”
Because neither of them was involved.
However this could be an object lesson for Cruz. Watch out how far you push a form of religion that lacks its power.
OK.
:)
Because neither of them was involved.

"Are you Ron 'Tater Salad' White?"
As you can tell, if you ever missed it, I am a gospel nut cubed.
That gives me some distinctly weird points of view, and a disdain for a lot of things commonly called “Christian” while at the same time a sense of mercy towards these fools.
God snatched me by the scruff of my neck into the kingdom of heaven; whether or not I thought I was ready, He was ready.
Today we still get a lot of salvations, but then the people are next to clueless about what to do with them. I would call that God’s clown corps and I’ve been through just about every trick they get into. Call me mad, call me wild, call me crazy, but call me Christ’s, and by all merit I should be waltzing around with the devil, not here!
God loves all you idiots. Will you ever get a clue about what that means????
Sounds like a fellow good and mad for the Lord.
Maybe this chap was one of these, maybe not, we can hardly depend on secular media to get the details right because the gospel story is focused somewhere the world isn’t.
“...University of Texas at Austin...”
A little part of the EU and thought crimes here in the US.
From what I’ve heard and read, Austin, Tx should be nuked from space in order to keep them from contaminating humanity with stupidity.
As for the cop, somebody shove a copy of the Constitution up his wazhoo for later reading.
How do you say “Law suit” in Texan?
I wonder of this preacher has grounds for a wrongful arrest suit.
He preached at a church I attended in Phoenix many years ago. He was blind and had a young guy who took care of him. His preaching was extremely powerful. It was a memorable event that I will never forget.
was confronted by multiple police officers on Tuesday
So was the fellow of the lede article from his organization?
I feel ya Red. When He calls, you know, and it’s not a guilt trip or a “fear hell’s fire” message delivered by some guy with a tattered bible in his hands, but a reflection of His grace revealed by those who know Him, and it makes you want it so bad, you don’t know how you ever lived without it. Is that kinda what yer talkin bout?
Thanks for the link.
This ‘idiot’ hasn’t heard of a lot of people though.
It is still a wonder to me that “Jesus Loves me This I know, for the Bible Tells me So.”
Don’t know why but sure am glad!!!
The message, by its very nature, can’t be one centered around the one doing the preaching.
I’d be really curious even about the situation described in the lede article. OK he’s giving a talk that brings in the topic of the hazards of venereal disease and manages to get explicit. That’s a good way to grab attention to the presenter; not so sure that’s a good way to direct attention to the Lord. God died not even so much to save our **** or our **** but our s-o-u-l.
There is no right to not be offended. Millenials are so screwed up. Of course, that’s by design.
But, as not to skip your question... yes.
The other aspect of it, is that it rebuilds a soul in a way that often doesn’t impress the world, though in the end it pours forth in a fountain of grace that the world could only describe as sheer colossal good luck, for lack of a better term.
Of course we know this (or should) as a supernaturally aided victory through trials.
