Ted Cruz's critics are wasting no time hitting him in South Carolina.
American Future Fund, a conservative group that spent heavily against Cruz in Iowa, will begin airing a TV commercial in South Carolina that labels Cruz as "weak" on national security â a damaging label in military-heavy South Carolina. The spot ties Cruz to Bernie Sanders, the liberal insurgent whoâs gaining momentum in the Democratic primary, and President Barack Obama. "Ted Cruz talks tough on national security. But look at his record. Cruz voted with Bernie Sanders against defense spending," the ad says. "Cruz sided with Obama to weaken our ability to track terrorists."
The commercial also attempts to paint Cruz as soft on undocumented immigrants, an issue where he has painted himself as the GOP field's strongest candidate of border security â as well as its strongest opponent of "amnesty" for people who entered the country illegally. The issue is a high priority for GOP voters, particularly in conservative South Carolina.
"Cruz proposed mass legalization of illegal immigrants," it continues. âHe even praised the traitor Edward Snowden. Ted Cruzâs talk is cheap. His national security record is weak.â

Part of the reason Trump took off his negative advertising is there is already a sustained negative ad campaign against Cruz. His money is better spent promoting his message. He also gets to hammer the nasty sleazy campaign Cruz is running. This is a dark money 501C SUPER PAC is from the Rubio people. They also ran ads against Cruz in Iowa.
And the Conservative Club for Growth spent big in Iowa and now in SC to defeat Trump! It isn’t Trump’s SuperPac. He doesn’t have one!
This is the “conservative” pro-ethanol frauds who make millions off the boondoggle that all the candidates support——EXCEPT TED CRUZ.
As a FYI, the Pac was set up by Romneyites. One of its biggest contributors was the hedge fund manager Paul Singer and Mark Zuckerberg’s astro-turf “conservative” PAC American for a Conservative Future.
And the source is Politico. Divide and conquer! Dems, GOPe, Government, labor, MSM are sowing seeds of deceit!! Let us all look behind the. Curtain.
In New Hampshire, the GOP Establishment and Cruz tried to “Jump The Trump”, but he won by 21, and “GOT THE BUMP”!!!
Jeb, Cruz and Rubio finish about tied for 3rd behind Kasich.
Trump won going away, Cruz got no bump from Iowa at all.
In fact people from Iowa are in SC spending $1.5 million on ads telling how Cruz cheated, lied, and intimidated voter before with mail, and at the Caucus giving “false Witness” saying untruths.
according to google search, American Future Fund was founded to support santorum, and since he’s endorsed rubio, hmmmm ....
Thanks. Looks like a bunch of political hacks from various campaigns got together.
Form your link spells out the motivation for this PAC. It was created to support ethanol so it still has a vendetta against Cruz.
YEB!’s last chance...
They have already spent tens of millions of dollars on him, and that army of consultants desperately need to pocket those 15-20% fees before the tap runs dry.
Hummm, really interesting group: Romney; pro-pot supporters; Koch bros; Iowa Rep. Jim Nussle; former GOP/turned DNC sleazy MO Atty. General Chris Koster; Alaska Wildlife Rescue; Wisconsin Libertarian running for Governor????
yuppers
It’s a strong ad that might do some damage, especially praising Snowden. The only thing I would have added was a 3 second shot of a cat meowing after the picture of Ted.
"I can state it simply and in one sentence. I am strongly opposed to illegal immigration. I am categorically opposed to amnesty. And I strongly support legal immigrants who follow the rules and come here seeking to work towards the American dream.
"I support any and all possible efforts to secure the border. That includes fences, that includes walls, that includes technology, that includes helicopters, that includes drones, that includes manpower, that includes employment verification, that includes approaching it as a law enforcement priority. And right now, neither party is serious about doing that.
"With respect to a path to citizenship or amnesty, I categorically oppose it. And the reason is, I've spent a lifetime working to defend the constitution and uphold the rule of law. It is fundamentally unfair and contrary to the rule of law to reward those who break the law."
Trump 2011:
O'Reilly: Now, the 15 million illegal immigrants who are already in the United States: what do you do with them?
Trump: I think right now you're going to have to do something – and, you know, it's hard to generalize, but you're going to have to look at the individual people, see how they've done, see how productive they've been, see what their references are, and then make a decision.
O'Reilly: Alright. On a case by case basis? That's going to take a long time, there's a lot of people.
Trump: Yes, but you know, you have some great, productive people who came over, and then you have some total disasters that probably should be in prison.
