Trump came across as so presidential in the speech and interviews following his NH victory. So, Cruz goes negative in his SC ads, while Trump pulling his negative ads looks, well, presidential. Meanwhile those negative ads from Cruz just reinforce Cruz's image as a "do whatever it takes" campaigner in Iowa and with his aggressive campaign donation solicitations.

Check, but not checkmate, for Trump?

Shhh, you are making too much sense. LOL I remember Romney went all negative on Newt in FL< and it worked. That’s what the news media does - just put out negative news all day, every day. It sells.

We'll see. I think the one thing we can say that Trump & Cruz have in common is very dedicated followers.

Trump’s negative ads about Cruz are obvious lies.

Cruz’ negative ads about Trump speak the truth. No reason for Cruz to drop the negative ads because they are true and they must be working.

Maybe Trump is hoping Cruz will also drop negative and against Trump, but I doubt it.

All Cruz has to do is tell the truth about Trump and Trump’s popularity will continue to drop.
