Ohio legislature defunds Planned Parenthood, cuts $1.3 million in funding

The Ohio House of Representatives has made its final vote to approve HB 294, which forbids state health funds from going to Planned Parenthood or any other abortion provider in the state.

If it is signed, which Ohio Governor John Kasich is expected to do, it will cut off the $1.3 million that the state’s affiliate of the abortion giant currently receives per year through the Ohio Department of Health. The same money will still go to support HIV testing, cancer screenings, and violence-against-women programs in the state, just distributed through providers not affiliated with abortion.

The bill adds to the current ban on direct taxpayer funding of abortion, ensuring that Ohioans’ tax dollars do not support abortion indirectly, either, by contributing to the overall revenue of abortion providers.

Republican House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger expressed optimism that Kasich, who is also running for president, would sign the bill, saying, “I think it’s a good thing for him to sign it for good public policy — period.”

Kasich has not commented specifically on the bill, but pledged to a New Hampshire crowd on Monday that Planned Parenthood funding was “not happening in our state and it isn’t going to happen in Washington.”

And some baby-killing judge will strike it down.

Just wait.

Why should tax payer dollars support this antiquated facility now that we have Obamacare? (Alinsky Rule # 4)

If this becomes law, then check back a year later and see if the number of abortions performed by Planned Parenthood goes down. If it does, then it proves that government funding of Planned Parenthood pays for abortions.

meanwhile the money will not be spent while the lawsuit against the governor drags on forever.

All he has to do is turnoff the spigot and nothing a judge tries to do will make a difference for a long time

Does anybody know how much PP charges for an abortion? I ask because I have never heard a dollar amount.
