Stupid is as stupid does! Does he really think they get them legally ?
So now a city ordinance can take away a person’s constitutional rights? Public officials even attempting this should be impeached...

I cannot believe he is stupid enough to say this. Guess anything it takes to keep the masses divided is a good thing to these freaks.
If the gun laws, particularly Federal gun laws, were enforced, something similar, and far better, would happen. Right now it’s illegal under Federal statutes for anyone under 18 (possibly 21, I’m not sure) to possess a hand gun without parental permission. In addition felons of any age are also battered from such possession. Use stop and frisk aggressively, prosecute, and imprison, and the large majority of such illegal carriers would be eliminated, to say nothing of the deterrence such arrests and imprisonments would cause. That would leave mostly legal carriers who’d do a great deal of good stopping criminals in their own neighborhoods, just as happens in white neighborhoods. Best of all, there would be no discrimination against law abiding people of any race and the horrible crime that takes so many innocent black lives would drop drastically. Everybody but the criminals would win. Indeed, that’s what happened when Rudy did something similar in NYC, except allowing law abiding people to carry.
BTW, what is the percentage of murders committed by a young minority male with a gun he himself has legally purchased and owns?
Has that ever happened?

I suggest he personally walks though NYC,Detroit, St Louis, and Chicago and pick up all the illegal guns from said minorities.

Unfortunately, there are probably some FReepers who agree with him.
If there is not at least one case where a young minority male legally owns a gun, which he then uses to murder someone, then Michael Bloomberg’s proposal that cities should ban young minority males from owning guns is useless and self-serving.
Bloomberg is human paraquat.
While I am opposed to gun control, the first ten amendments to the Constitution place limits only on the federal government--not states or localities. Which means strictly and authentically interpreted, the Second Amendment doesn't prohibit gun laws on any but the federal level.
Conservatives do themselves no favors when they hypocritically make this very argument against the first amendment on "no establishment of religion" but then turn around and use it on the second.
