Australia's biggest Islamic School could close after losing $20 MILLION in government funding...

Australia's biggest Islamic School has been stripped of $20 million in government funding following allegations the money was not being used only on education.

Malek Fahd Islamic School in Greenacre, south-west of Sydney, which has more than 2,400 students, could be forced to close its gate after the Federal Government said it would stop funding.

On Monday, the Department of Education issued a notice to the Islamic institution - revoking its Commonwealth funding - and leaving hundreds of teaching jobs on the line.

Education Minister Simon Birmingham said the funding will be axed as of April 8 after the school had failed to address how the money was being spent, as required under the Education Act.

In Australia, private schools receive a degree of government funding under principles similar to those behind many voucher schemes. Exactly how much a school gets depends on a fairly complex formula, but on average, every student attending a private school gets about the government funding a student at a government school gets.

Because the Commonwealth government is not supposed to fund religion (we have a similar Constitutional provision to the US on these issues), conditions are attached to this money when it comes to religious schools - the money can only be used to fund the secular parts of education, not religious activity.

Malek Fahd has not been following these rules for some time.

The hell you say. If that was the criteria here in America, every public school would be closed.

Not even the Kenyan Regime funds muzzie schools here in the US.

Not yet, at least.

No - we don’t have that large a Muslim population, but they are a little over 2% of the country.

They’re giving the school two months to fake their books. They don’t have the guts to cut the funding.

When there is an explosion in the science lab of a muslim school, do they wonder?

The Australian government provides limited funding to private schools - on the principle that an educated populace is a good thing for a country and private schools therefore serve a useful purpose.

It's a good system in my opinion - it creates far more educational choice than a system where only public schools are funded - and that creates an incentive for the public schools to be better as well, because it's easier for parents to choose a different school if they are not good enough.

About a third of Australian children attend private schools.

This has been in progress for a while. The school has been given a chance to fix this and hasn’t.

The reason for the April 8th date is because that is the start of the next school term - funding for this term has already been allocated, so that is the earliest date funding can be cut from.

I believe it will be - unless the school really does fix things which I doubt.

If the government wanted to cover this up, it would have done it at an earlier stage.

Malek Fahd is a Saudi name. Why can’t the camel jockeys in Riyadh pay for this monstrosity?

Actually, yes they do.

Every abuse of this simple principle, when violated "accidentally" promotes the Religion of Death : Two legged animal muslim mass murderers...

I’m sure the Saudi royal family, the British government, or perhaps the UN will step up to funding the Islamic barracks in Australia.

I would agree with everything you say were it not for the fact that embracing the "Religion of Death" in that net is naive, stupid and suicidal.

Back in the 90’s, they had open borders if you had LOTS of $$$
Normal people, the borders were locked and the best you could get was a 90 day visa.

End result is the good people left, the bad people stayed.
