Buckley always said he picked the most conservative candidate which he thought could win. Hence, Nixon in 1968, but he really wanted Reagan.
From a tactical perspective for Trump, he has to be hoping for Kasich to finish 2nd. Kasich is a purely regional candidate but if he steals 2nd he will stay in the race through SC to make it to Michigan where he may be competitive for #2/3 in that primary. Kasich is looking for a VP slot out of this. By coming in 2nd in NH, Kasich seriously damages Rubio, further dents Bush and knocks Cruz down a peg before SC. All good things for Trump. Best case for Trump is a win by double digits, Kasich 2, Rubio 3 and Cruz 4. Go Kasich! Help Trump Make America Great Again!!
I don’t remember Reagan being mentioned at the 1968 convention. Weren’t George Romney and Richard Scranton contenders against Nixon back then? I thought Reagan was in the thick of running California in those years?
Cruz made it clear that evangelicals turning out was the last chance for our country.... hopefully he asked them to fib to pollsters, too.
I think I’ve read fully 40% never vote at all and the last thing the GOP-e would do is run a candidate appealing to them. This is terrifying to the estab: evangelicals are completely foreign creatures whose behavior they can’t begin to predict.
“...sites...??”
I was wondering when someone was going to pick up on that!
Monday night, the only honest comment is that Mr Undecided is leading. Voters will talk to their family members, their co-workers and will finally decide whom to vote for. Which way the undecided goes decides everything in NH.
All of this x up and y down is halucinations.
