Agree entirely with this, but am concerned that the government would then define (to an even greater degree) what is taught as ‘dogma’ within higher education.

I think a much better solution is to push online learning as a strong and cheaper alternative to bricks and mortar higher education. Most university education is self-teaching/self-learning anyway. If we combine this approach with standardized post-education testing to determine competency, college/university costs will come down in a very big hurry.

And the more I think about this, I would require any and all universities that receive any public funding (including any grant money for research) to provide all their coursework for free online.
