SEOUL/TOKYO, Feb 7 (Reuters) - North Korea launched a long-range rocket on Sunday carrying what it has called a satellite, but its neighbours and Washington denounced the launch as a missile test, conducted in defiance of U.N. sanctions and just weeks after a nuclear bomb test.
The U.S. Strategic Command said it had detected a missile entering space, and South Korea's military said the rocket had put an object into orbit.
North Korea said the launch of its satellite Kwangmyongsong-4, named after late leader Kim Jong Il, was a "complete success" and that it was making a polar orbit of the earth every 94 minutes. The launch order was given by his son, leader Kim Jong Un, who is believed to be 33 years old.

If diversity is so great, why did the Armed Forces used to teach unit cohesion?
North Korea is the pitbull, China is the owner.
Why the hell did the US navy not take it out in flight ?
No reports on where the parts landed ?
Everytime they ‘test’ one , is the perfect opportunity
to ‘test’ our anti-missile defense systems .
AEGEUS da ting .
Instead ? “ Stand Down! “ keep sitting on your hands ....
No wonder Jim Jong Fatass is laughing at us and keeps doing whatever he wants . No downside for him whatsoever .
Let the little punk squeak . We’re ready for whatever he thinks he can try . They hit SK , they fry ...
As goes North Korea, so goes Iran, same time tested tactics.
Do what you want, West cries foul, keep doing whatever you want free from sanctions or anything concrete...even if sanctions are imposed, so what?
this is such a great chance to test our anti missile capacity , unless they think it’s so bad that it would make it look like we didn’t have any . I think we do and we should demonstrate it . Just use it . Every launch should be another take down . Maybe they’ll get tired of trying .
Eventually they may acquire the capability to deliver and touch off a nuclear warhead above the US, and pass along the technology to Obamas friends in Iran to utilize and create an EMP effect and we are left to contemplate our stupidity, thanks to our brilliant foreign policies.
I agree with Trumps plan, let China sort it out.
Or those super container ships bound for Walmart will find themselves parked in the Pacific for a long time.
Isn’t there some kind of special satellite already in space that can “eliminate” other satellites and dangerous objects in space? Seems I read something about that a while back but have been unable to locate it. Anyone able to provide more details?
“Isn’t there some kind of special satellite “
No one knows and the best way to keep it that way is to
NOT use it on insignificant junk launched into space by
a potbellied punk.
South Korea and Japan both had the ability to shoot down the missile as well and neither one did it. I would assume if they saw it as a threat then they would have done so.
Sooo,
Why didn’t we, South Korea or Japan not shoot this missile out the sky?
The only heat-seeking missiles that 0bama is capable of firing go no further than Reggie Love...
Puts object in space = launches satellite, yes?
How frequently does the “object” cross US space? If it does so it must have an “accident”. But it won’t, not with this regime in place.
Bings to mind sitting in the enlisted men's club at NOB Norfolk in (about) 1962, with a black shipmate from Chicago. A TV was showing some of the violence against civil rights marchers. He said (something on the order of) "There's a lot of your people here, and a lot of my people, and we're getting along OK". I think my answer was "That's because we're all blue". I served with a few whites and a few blacks who had "attitudes" but most of of us got along.
“No reports on where the parts landed?”
On last night’s thread, both Yonghap and NHK reported locations where the booster stages landed.
Of course, they also reported that it fragmented and failed. Now we have this report that it did put something in space.
Who to believe?
the military should start giving the orders and tell the civie moron to stand down
