Marco Rubio Stole Ted Cruz’s Iowa Bounce
FiveThirtyEight ^ | 02/05/2016 | Nate Silver

Posted on 02/05/2016 12:59:31 PM PST by ScottWalkerForPresident2016

A candidate is moving up in the New Hampshire polls — but it’s the man who finished third in Iowa, Marco Rubio, and not the Iowa winner, Ted Cruz.

Rubio has gained around 6 percentage points in the New Hampshire polls, while Donald Trump has lost 2 points (although Trump remains the favorite here). There’s still a tiny bit of pre-Iowa data in polling average, and the numbers will undoubtedly shift around a few points over the weekend. But if any candidate were emerging with massive momentum as a result of his Iowa performance, we probably would have seen it by now.

Cruz isn’t. In fact, his numbers haven’t really moved at all. He’s polling at 12.4 percent today, versus 12.0 percent before Iowa. Usually, candidates get polling bounces after they win Iowa, especially if they also outperform their polls, as Cruz did.

So what’s the problem? One answer is that Iowa and New Hampshire are famously incompatible on the Republican side; no non-incumbent Republican has ever won both states. But from what we can tell,1 Cruz’s bounce in the national polls is also quite small. So there are other issues also at work.

Cruz at 7% in a new New Hampshire poll. He's following the Huckabee/Santorum path to irrelevancy.

CRuz shouldn’t have messed with dirty tricks. If it cost him (an honest) loss, then he could’ve done as other candidates have done...and gone on to win without IA.

Cruz’s vote stealing from Carson in Iowa has hurt him in NH.
People are still talking about it.

“Cruz at 7% in a new New Hampshire poll.”

But, from this article you yourself just posted:

“He’s polling at 12.4 percent today, versus 12.0 percent before Iowa.”

Do you not even read the things you post?

Enough to taint his win in Iowa.

Enough that this scandal is still hanging like a hanging chad.

That’s how many.

I was talking about one specific poll out today, not an average, genius.

I mean really does anyone think the Washington players all don’t have secrets to be blackmailed with? HELL THAT IS WHY THEY ARE PICKED, GROOMED AND PLACED IN OFFICE. Think about it. People from sheer obscurity like the dumbass peanut farmer Jimmah Carter from Georgia, goober molestor Bubba Clinton from Arkansas and we can’t forget the hood from Chicago Bam Bam became PRESIDENT. These people couldn’t get and keep REAL jobs yet they rise from their obscurity to the highest office in the land. IT IS THE PLAN.

I will say that if Ted Cruz and Donald Trump are snakes, they are our snakes like it or not and if we are going to keep the Democrat snake out of the White House this time, maybe the cure is to send in our best, meanest snake and hope he is snake enough to displace their snake.

In my personal opinion Rubio is a democrat snake planted in our nest to foil our best snake once again. Christie calling Rubio a bubble boy, gaggler is truly odd. (look up meaning of gaggler in Urban Dictionary)It is pretty nasty

Rush calling Rubio “full-throated” conservative is more odd still.

Subliminal programming?

Telling us without telling us?

Closer to the truth than not, I think.

Rubio is this year’s Designated GOP Loser.

The MSM will love him and promote him until he’s our candidate.

Then in October, they’ll rip him to shreds with all of his scandals.

There was no bounce for Cruz to have out of IA... I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again, the establishment candidate is the one who will get the most gain out of a good showing, because its the establishment vote that is fragmented. Cruz isn’t going to peel away many votes from folks who are backing a Rubio or a Kasich etc... they will move generally onto another more establishment candidate. Same with Trump he’s not likely to peel a former Kasich voter to him if he performs well.

Cruz and Trump really only have each other to peel votes from as long as anyone who remotely can be considered an establishment candidate is still in the race.

So why is Cruz dropping in NH? When he should have gotten a bounce?

It because of the Carson dirty tricks thing.
