Donald Trump would "strongly consider" appointing Supreme Court justices as president to overturn same-sex marriage, the Republican presidential front-runner said Sunday.

Courting evangelical voters in Iowa, Trump told "Fox News Sunday" he disagreed with last year's landmark ruling that legalized same-sex marriage because states should decide.

"If I'm elected I would be very strong on putting certain judges on the bench that I think maybe could change things, but they have a long way to go," Trump said....

This is an example of the straight-shooting speaks-his-mind attitude that has the GOPe baffled and frightened.

You Chuck are now no longer officially married to Larry.
We’ll leave it to the two of you to sort out the legal and financial mess.

Sorry, I just don’t see that happening.

Overturn same-sex marriage?

What Federal law was passed that gave us that? What’s the name of the Bill/Act?

I don’t seem to recall...

Trump LIES. He stood AGAINST Kim Davis and her refusal to issue S/S marriage licenses. He said the should have obeyed the SCOTUS ruling.

“Strongly consider” are political weasel words. He wouldn’t say that unless he was trying to cover for not doing it in the future. You won’t hear Cruz equivocate on these issues.

Apparently, it shows that Trump’s positions are always EVOLVING, depending on the latest polling...

Reminds me of Al Davis when he was paid to “consider” moving the Raiders to Irwindale.

RE:”This is an example of the straight-shooting speaks-his-mind attitude that has the GOPe baffled and frightened. “

Trump will say anything from one day to the next that he thinks will help him....all past statements are to be forgotten.

That would conflict with his NY values that he brags about.

NY passed gay marriage on their own.

No useful information comes from Trump's promises.

The funny thing is, that’s how Trump qualifies everything. “We’ll be looking into that”, “We really need to look at that” is basically his pet phrase for everything, so he can be on both sides of every issue.

I was pretty sympathetic to the Trump movement in the beginning (although Cruz was always #1 for me), but the more you peel back the curtains the less impressed I am with him.

Good for Trump. No other candidate would even opine on the subject.

“Strongly consider” is not straight shooting, it’s actually typical political double speaker. So whatever he does he can claim to have kept his promise. “I strongly considered it but in the end decided against it”.

Straight shooting would be “I am against same-sex marriage, I think it’s a terrible idea and I promise to use my presidential power in every constitutional way, including the power to appoint judges, to fight against it”

Just great. Focus on chimeras, and by doing so, blow another hole your foot.

I swear, it's getting hard to have much hope for a guy who can win on immigration, defense and jobs, but who wastes his time talking about everything else.

Ridiculous. If you can’t even get a majority vote to stop it how are you going to get a supermajority to pass a constitutional amendment or appoint a Supreme Court justice to do it?

You know, I agree with you. The horse has left the barn.

And, frankly, it's been a complete non-issue for me personally.

I'm wondering if Cruz is going to have the Duck Dynasty guy on the ground with him in New Hampshire, shouting that gay marriage is EEEVILLL! like he did in Iowa.

It's not a LAW It was only a judical decision for a specific case.

The courts can not make new "law"... and here is a good example why- what "law" does he ask congress to overturn?

If the supreme court can make new law, then CONCEALED CARRY IS NOW "LAW OF THE LAND" for the same reason, thanks to recent court decisions.

right?

“Apparently, it shows that Trump’s positions are always EVOLVING, depending on the latest polling...”

Kind of like Cruz ‘evolving’ on immigration - by first trying to help the Gang of 8 get the bill passed (by eliminating citizenship), then trying to kill the bill, then saying no deporting, then saying deport them all.

Hopefully Mr. PERFECT shows up in this race soon.
