Wednesdayâs cover of La Opinión, the nationâs largest daily Spanish-language newspaper, prominently portrays donor-class favorite Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 79% with the infamous âhope and changeâ imagery that defined Barack Obamaâs presidential campaign.
The cover of the Spanish-language paper writes: âThe Republican Obama? The surge of the Latino Senator in the presidential campaign has made him a target of criticism on the subject of immigration.â
Marco Rubio and Barack Obama share many of the same policy goals, such as Obamatrade and military intervention in Libya, but their most striking similarities are on the subject of immigration. Both men support citizenship for illegal aliens, expanded refugee resettlement, more green cards, more H-1B visas, and large permanent expansions to the rate of immigration and foreign worker importation.

Obama - Now in Spanish
That is not meant as a compliment!
Nobody here would regard it as a compliment.
Press 1 for Rubio.
Well that should take care of rufeeos rise.
We may not like it, but that is the only way we’re going to get a Pub in the WH. The demographics have changed, thanks to Obama. If Rubio can manage to change largely Catholic latino voters into Republicans, then perhaps there is hope yet. There will have to be a pull toward the middle in order to win against Hillary, no doubt about it. Rubes may be the best shot. Heaven knows they won’t vote for Trump.
With “Republicans” like Rubio, who needs Democrats?
And if my aunt had ..... she'd be my uncle.
I would rather lead with substantial ideas, than try to fit every diversity into the ring.
Not every diversity. I’m talking about conservative purity. One has to hold office to make change, and the US demographics and social constructs have changed, like it or not.
Ronald Reagan knew the art of compromise, as did our Founding Fathers. Things will not change unless we get more diverse base to our side through showing them the way. I may be wrong about Rubio, but I pray to God that if he does pull over enough former and “new” dems, he can change hearts and thinking.
I’m not so naive to think that anyone less than an 80 percenter, as Reagan used to say, could pull over enough voters.
"Both men support citizenship for illegal aliens, expanded refugee resettlement, more green cards, more H-1B visas, and large permanent expansions to the rate of immigration and foreign worker importation."
There you have it: Rubiobama- uniparty dream candidate.
Didn’t Rubio have to fight to keep Cruz’s amnesty amendment off his emigration legislation. Rubio is to the right of cruz on emigration.
Roofio is an open borders whore.
Funny thing happens when a person leads with clearly delineated principles that support natural law - people from all walks of life and all diversities are attracted to that.
Two Reagan landslides stand as proof.
If Rubio gets in, we can kiss what’s left of our country goodbye, and say hello to illegals, who will take our jobs, bankrupt the welfare system and commit horrible crimes. Not all of course, but, there is no vetting of these critters. We must stop Rubio and the GOPe from succeeding. They know Jeb is a goner, but, with Santorum endorsing Rubio and others who are for amnesty - I suspect the RNC is behind this Rubio push,. Look for others who drop out after NH to also endorse Rubio - it’s part of the roadmap for the RNC to get their cheap labor candidate elected.
But what I mean by political purity is this...
“When I began entering into the give and take of legislative bargaining in Sacramento, a lot of the most radical conservatives who had supported me during the election didn't like it.
“Compromise” was a dirty word to them and they wouldn't face the fact that we couldn't get all of what we wanted today. They wanted all or nothing and they wanted it all at once. If you don't get it all, some said, don't take anything.
I'd learned while negotiating union contracts that you seldom got everything you asked for. And I agreed with FDR, who said in 1933: ‘I have no expectations of making a hit every time I come to bat. What I seek is the highest possible batting average.’
If you got seventy-five or eighty percent of what you were asking for, I say, you take it and fight for the rest later, and that's what I told these radical conservatives who never got used to it.”
Don't get me wrong, Rubio is no Reagan, but I'm not going to cut off my nose to spite my face.
Edit to add... That quote is from Reagan.
What will Rubio get us?
