“Intense” Meeting?

Too much beer, or not enough?

Give me a Southerner like Newt any day.

Well, when Newt became Speaker one of his first pronouncements was that he was Speaker for the Country.

Before he was done he faced a revolt in his own caucus, and it wasn't because he was too conservative.

One of his own generals, Dick Armey, delivered an emotional soliloqui about the revolt and that, basically, Gingrich was responsible.

I don't think it has to do with geography. It has to do with leadership and character.

“hewing to a pure political philosophy than in actually moving the conservative agenda forward one step at a time.”

I laughed when I read this.

Do you mean moving one step backwards at a time?

Tell me how many times since Obama was President during the past 7 years that the conservative agenda has actually moved forward?

Many opportunities have presented themselves, but all I can see is the GOP kicking the can down the road saying “ next year we will make it different.”
