Actually the pollsters did a pretty decent job. Most of the results were within the margin of error.
The biggest shock was how strong Rubio did, and the polls DID show him surging the last few days, but they can only show what the race was like when they polled, and when the race is fluid, they can miss late surges.

Rubio’s “strength” though was more a result of the GOPe banding together in self preservation and deciding to all show up because they were terrified of Trump and Cruz.
If you look at the turnout models and totals, Trump did extremely well. If you said 48 hours ago that either Trump would get 45,000+ raw vote total OR there would be 180,000 turnout, you’d say Trump would romp. Trump did his job based on what conventional wisdom was up until last night.
Cruz simply got the missing 2012 “Romney voters” to show up at the polls yesterday. The evangelicals came out big for Ted.
All three guys got their bases out and consolidated behind them. That’s why even though Rubio did very well, I’m not sure he’s begun to address the fact Trump/Cruz/Carson still controlled 61% of that last night.
FX was on the ground there ALL weekend PIMPING Rubio it was non stop Rubio!!!! This IS GOP-e guy!!!! Our borders will NEVER be closed with a Rubio POTUS!!! Chamber of Commerce will have him bought and paid for!!!! Just lime ALL the rest!!!

I do have to say I am upset at how high an establishment player placed. Rubio is dangerous at the same level that bush was before he got pounded into electoral dust. We will need to focus a lot of effort into dismantling Rubios campaign and bring down the last establishment pig hope.
