My daughter works at a B&N. She’s in the children’s dept. and absolutely loves it.
I think they are grooming her to supervise it. She’s getting lots of opportunities to plan and run special events, story time etc. They had a small Maker Fair a few weeks ago and last week she donned the Clifford the Big Red Dog costume for some event.
In recent years, B&N has been shifting their business model away from total reliance on books and magazines. They now stock a lot of toys, games, and curiosities, and have cut way back on music. I don’t know if it’s working.
Good for your daughter. My grandsons always loved going to our local B&N and started them both off at an early age. We also went to the library once a week and usually came out with a pile to read. Now they are older and books cost more but that’s okay.

A lot of my supervisors could have been cartoon characters... :)
