in all seriousness, it wasn’t long ago in our country’s history where this article would have been a tasteless one in Cracked magazine. (I liked Mad)

how scary

Speaker Paul Ryan is not shocked at President Barack Obama today vetoed a bill that would repeal Obamacare and de-fund the Planned Parenthood abortion business.

I will never understand why legislators put more than one issue in a bill. If you want failure, continue this ridiculously stupid practice.

Let us see what happens. This attempt to override Obamas veto of bill to defund Planned Parenthood may be a way for lawmakers to make their voting records look good. After all, the states have never delegated to Congress, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for anything like Planned Parenthood.

In other words, the House should never have appropriated taxes to fund Planned Parenthood. So this possible veto override is constitutionally bass ackwards.

Remember that both Houses must override veto with 2/3 supermjaority vote (1.7.2).

It’s an election year, did you expect them to do anything different being they are the ones who voted to fund it in the first place?

I am just cynical enough to say, that failure is exactly what they want.

I thought they voted to fund PP, Obamacare and everything else Obama wanted in the Omnibus spending bill in December? If that is the case, this is likely just a show vote that they know has no hope of over riding Obama’s veto in the Senate, but they think will keep us rubes happy.

I agree. Ryan/McConnell are good with funding everything Obama and the GOPe want.

I thought they voted to fund PP

They did, this is just more smoke and mirrors from the lying scum in DC. I hate loath and despise the phony lying professional politicians stupid voters send to DC.
