Before he achieved political office, Bernie Sanders never had a steady paycheck in the first four decades of his life. Now, he aspires to the highest office in the land where he could play a decisive role in shaping the circumstances under which the rest of us work and receive (when we can) our paychecks. It is a sobering record, as Investor's Business Daily explains it:

Democrats don’t understand the real world.

That’s why they’re Democrats. (or Socialists.)

But does he bring Hope and Change and Free Stuff?

That’s all some will hear and not have to worry about putting gas in their car or paying their mortgage.

“One of his first jobs was registering people for food stamps, and it was all downhill from there.

“Sanders took his first bride to live in a maple sugar shack with a dirt floor, and she soon left him. Penniless, he went on unemployment. Then he had a child out of wedlock. Desperate, he tried carpentry but could barely sink a nail. “He was a shi**y carpenter,” a friend told Politico Magazine. “His carpentry was not going to support him, and didn’t.”

“Then he tried his hand freelancing for leftist rags, writing about “masturbation and rape” and other crudities for $50 a story. He drove around in a rusted-out, Bondo-covered VW bug with no working windshield wipers. Friends said he was “always poor” and his “electricity was turned off a lot.” They described him as a slob who kept a messy apartment — and this is what his friends had to say about him.”

I can think of another very famous socialist who never had a steady paycheck until he took control of his political party.

Amazingly that’s a far better job record than Ubama had
before he took his first elected office.

Does anyone know where Bernie Sanders has his investments? I imagine that sooner or later he will have to disclose them. I mean doe he have stocks or mutual funds? Or is he bullish on Venezuela government bonds?

Growing up on Long Island I had a liberal Jewish friend who was fat and slobby. His father owned a small discount store back then early 70’s. Irving’s car too was a pig sty— a smelly bio hazard-mobile. He was eccentric and not exactly chick magnet material although he was kinda fun. Wonder what ever became of him?

I looked at the original article from IBD linked in this Thinker piece... All assets are in wife’s name, no amounts given. Sanders has $65,000 in debt.

Bernie tried carpentry but failed. Did the disheveled socialist you are thinking of try to become a painter but failed?

The perfect example of government welfare. It’s a jobs program for those who can’t cut it in the real world.

“Democrats don’t understand the real world.

Bus Sanders isn’t even a Democrat. He’s always run as an Independent. So it’s interesting that the RAT Party will even let him run on their ticket. I guess when you “peel the onion,” the RAT Party simply encompasses Communists too.
