I live in that county.
These parents are seeking their 15 seconds of fame, that is all... they have no basis for this lawsuit.
That may be, but any opportunity to damage, harass, or be a nuisance to an enemy should be taken advantage of.
“Never let a crisis go to waste.” I think a prominent Dem once said.
Karma is an itch-bay.
Do you know something that we don’t?
Did they pass Sharia law in your county?
If what was said in the article then yes they do have a basis. This kind of thing needs to be nipped in the budding stage.
Did it happen or is the story an exaggeration?
Are you a Muslim?
What are you basing your opinion on? Do you know the Woods?
You do know that the Thomas More Law Center is not in the habit of filing frivolous lawsuits, don’t you?
...and how do you know that?
Oh, I wouldn't bet on that. For one, these are not ambulance-chasers that took their case. And, they run a heck of a risk owing damages to the school district for filing frivolous suit.
Actually, this is the most extreme violation of religious rights by a school district I've ever heard of. Why don't you do some research on Islam, and the Constitution, and shut your liberal yap?
Seriously? Could you expand on your opinion some more? The lawsuit sounds valid.
The 7th grade social studies Curriculum in our state (NJ) focuses on Islam (for half the year). Christianity and Judaism is two Units, 6 weeks tops. Yeah, it’s real and no one seems to be complaining much except those who are slammed or shut up.
7th Grade Social Studies Curriculum used to be focused on the Constitution and Civics. Now, it’s mostly about Islam. I used to teach social studies, now Algebra and pre algebra and glad for it because I couldn’t teach what is being taught now.
It’s not just middle and high school social studies. It’s elementary too.
It’s glaringly apparent that few parents care about what is being taught in our public, private and Catholic schools.
If they did what its reported they are scum.
What do you base your statement on?
I live in charles county, in LaPlata, as well.
There is way more to the story than is being presented.
The parents are way overstating what actually went down.
