Public schools anymore are a pox on the general public. You cannot instill virtues when you are afraid to define and defend them. Ultimately that is what a good education does, while at the same time providing skills with which to use them.

I matriculated through public schools at a time where we were thought to think not pass tests. If I had school-aged kids, no way I’d have them there now. I’d home school or have them in private school.

This really makes my blood boil
