Given the demographics of this country and the era of tribal politics, any Rep nominee will find it an uphill battle to win. The Dems start out with a huge electoral advantage.

Perhaps, but I still see the country 47-53% conservative/moderate/liberal republican.

The last three election cycles, republicans gained the house, then a larger majority in the house, gained the senate, majority of governorships and statehouses throughout America. Looks like the country moved right to me.

With that, after Jimmy Carter's miserable four years in office, Ronald Reagan swept the nation. I see the same happening this election. Folks are flat wore-out with the shenanigans up in D.C.. Folks are wore-out by the Obama reign.
