The problem for many is they can afford the premiums, or actual health care ... but not both. Since they are forced to buy premiums, they cannot afford the health care that they need.

And then there is the problem that the ‘networks’ are so narrow (and narrowing even more) that even if you can afford to go to a doctor, you may not be able to find one that will see you or see you in a timely manner. If you have a serious health issue, your best bet is to head to the ER.

Yup. EMTALA will cover ER care and if you have a life threatening illness, you can’t be refused treatment because of inability to pay for it.
