Trump ran.

Come on now, Uncle Miltie...you don't really believe that, do you? Because the only people who actually believe that nonsense are morons, and I have a hard time believing you are a moron.

I keep reading “We’ve had six debates already!!!”

No, we got six media events. I crave a real debate, and one beween only our top two would be great! Red meat, finally.

How many of you have ever actually watched a real, honest debate?

C’mon Donald, man up. Let us observe your knowledge, positions, logic and reason in real light. (As opposed to Twitterrants.)

I don’t care whether they debate Sunday night or not. Nor do I care whether Trump participates in any further debates; he can run his campaign as he sees fit and has clearly been very successful about that to this point.

But it is transparently disingenuous for Trump to wrap his own political self-interest in the honorable discharge papers of others, and Cruz’s Super PACs have called him out on that.

My thought is that Cruz and the other candidates should position tonight’s debate as a job interview, which one applicant chose to skip. The hiring managers themselves can decide how they feel about it.

Correct. It is a candidate taking some time to tell what he/she is going to do.
The next candidate opions about his/her plans, and so it goes.

There is very little of any real debating the issues per se.

IRREFUTABLE AUTHORITY HAS SPOKEN
(Oct. 18, 2009) The Post & Email has in several articles mentioned that the Supreme Court of the United States has given the definition of what a “natural born citizen” is. Since being a natural born citizen is an objective qualification and requirement of office for the U.S. President (and VP), it is important for all U.S. Citizens to understand what this term means.

http://www.thepostemail.com/2009/10/18/4-supreme-court-cases-define-natural-born-citizen/

Cruz turning up to be questionable.
Such brilliant lawyer, top of his class, debater, wizard - just recently discovered that he is Canadian citizen and never mind “Natural Born Citizen” qualification for Prez and VP?
Oh yeah, stand by for barrage of being Citizen and eligible. Need to modernize Constitutional requirements and justify the Kenyan impostor in the White Hut.
I bet that RATs will as vigorously try to destroy Cruz, as they defended and shielded Kenyan. Few lawsuits are already brewing.

> “...but he seems quick to wrap himself in other people’s bravery...”

Trump overruled his pilot’s caution during a storm to fly to a rally in SC. It was dangerous to fly but he said it was too important, he would not cancel the rally.

The man has guts, a lot of it. If he didn’t he wouldn’t be taking on the media and kicking their asses six ways to Sunday.

He genuinely loves our vets. Here’s the proof:

I’m a Trump supporter, a very strong one and I also love Ted Cruz. But what you posted is pure Bullshit.

The only difference is that Obama produced a birth certificate from a US state (born on US soil).

The only birth certificate Cruz produced is from a foreign country (born on foreign soil).

Trump will not debate Cruz one on one, he would lose badly.

That was off the cuff.

Elsewhere I’ve stated that Trump’s refusal of a debate he could only lose to Cruz was brilliant.

I don’t doubt that Trump is brave. He certainly has a lot of nerve.

Over-ruling a pilot’s best judgment to get to a political rally might be called poor judgment rather than courage; he risked the pilot’s life, and the lives of anyone else on the plane, in order to pursue his own personal best interests. But I suppose that’s part of making a successful deal.

The media richly deserves the ass-kicking he is giving them, and I agree that he has some very valid points against Fox in this debate dust-up. But anything he does for veterans or other charities should be kept separate from campaigning. He should simply have said that he found the debate moderators biased and the need for additional debate redundant, and left it at that. He could have held a pure political rally at the same time as the debate. Instead he wants to use veterans to keep himself in the spotlight.

Apparently, you did not read the link I gave you.

Prior to running for President, he has always been quiet and silent about his incredible support for veterans.

Caring for veterans is his passion and the vets know it. He can’t keep it quiet because the vets won’t let him.

Read the link I gave you. It is brief part of his history with vets before running for President.

In his lifetime, Trump has done more for vets than all candidates combined for the past decades.

"I crave a real debate"

So do I. The so called "debate" they have tonight is just going to be more "gotcha" BS and a free-for-all to bring down Cruz.

They will probably do what they did in the last one-Give Rubio 5 min to attack-give Cruz 30 seconds to answer- Rubio another 5 min to continue the attack-then not go back to Cruz.

Or the mods will take up all the time and make it about themselves.

Too bad Cruz is only interested in helping the wounded warriors if he gets something for it. This from the greatest Christian in the world. Well if you listen to him tell you about it.

The more I see of Ted Cruz the less I like him.

You’re correct, I didn’t read it. I don’t question that he’s done good things for vets or that he sincerely has their best interests at heart or that he has done those things behind the scenes. Kudos to Trump for that.

My contention is that he has scheduled a fund-raiser for vets to keep himself in the spotlight as part of his political campaigning. He want eyes on himself and that’s why he has talked up the ratings hit Fox news will take on the debate with him being absent, and why he is talking up competitive TV coverage of his event. The very fact that Trump has supported vets quietly in the past convicts him for shining a spotlight on support for them now; he simply wants that spotlight and he’s using vets to get it.

There is nothing wrong with a political candidate wanting, and taking, the spotlight. He just shouldn’t use a charitable cause to do it.

> “He want eyes on himself and that’s why he has talked up the ratings hit Fox news...”

And you should note he could have picked a thousand things to highlight but he chose his one passion which is our vets. I see his drawing attention to our vets not as a gimmick but as a continuation of his absolute sincerity and devotion to them. I see it that way because he could have chosen any number of other things.

If you think about it, you would agree that the cancellation of his appearance on Fox would naturally bring out the media maggots to inquire what he will be doing during those hours. If you noticed, his schedule is chock full of media appearances, rallies and press releases. You would infer naturally that he will fill that time slot with something else and the media would chase it, whatever it would be. He chose to raise funds for our vets and I will bet this fundraiser was always planned and he just had it moved up.

The media was quick to amplify a left-wing group calling itself a veteran’s support group that it would not take donations from Trump. The media is sleazy, dishonest and downright diabolical in their lies and projections. They want to take Trump down. That he chose to adjust his schedule for a vets fundraiser is NOT trying to wrap himself in the flag, it is and has always been a passion of his and was extremely likely already planned as are many other fundraisers for vets.

Hostage you are a well-spoken and passionate defender of your point of view. I respect and admire that. I join you in contempt for the media and I suspect you have equal contempt for the Republican establishment. I share those sentiments as well.

But you are making assumptions about Trump’s schedule for which there are simply no facts in evidence. Neither of us know whether this fundraiser was already planned. You can make assumptions about Trump’s schedule which are flattering to him, I can make assumptions which are detrimental to him, but in either case they remain assumptions, ultimately revealing more about ourselves than about Trump.

If Trump is sincerely trying to put attention on veterans rather than on himself, then it stands to reason that he will stay off camera during his rally tonight, and will instead put veterans on camera. I don’t mean that Trump will be on camera talking about veterans, I mean he will positively avoid the camera so that veterans can be in the spotlight. And since he is such a Jedi master at manipulating the media he will have no problem in staying off camera even if the media tries to focus on him.

Would you agree?
