Robert "LaVoy" Finicum, the spokesman of the refuge occupation, was shot and killed after he charged police during a roadside stop north of Burns on Tuesday, according to a man on Facebook who claims to be the driver of one of two vehicles involved in the highway shooting.
McConnell said he noticed movement, and Finicum "took off" in the pickup with the remaining passengers. He said Payne and Cox described encountering a police roadblock about a mile north on the highway and apparently tried to get around it, becoming stuck in the snow.
"When he exited the vehicle, the rear wheels were still spinning," McConnell said. "He charged at law enforcement" and was shot.

Sad end to a series of bad choices.
He was a very interesting character. The Bundy brothers, in my opinion, took advantage of his personality quirks.
Cops are not judge, jury and executioner. The girl says he was marching toward the cops with hands up when shot. If that is true something illegal happened. Does not change the fact that they did exactly what they should not have done.

Looks like the government adopted the usual "shoot first" policy to end their little problem and cow dissidents.

From her account the vehicle was hit by gunfire from different angles, “120 times”. I doubt she counted them, but perhaps estimated. (That’s only 4 30-round magazines, and from what she described, there were multiple shooters with lasers on each of them when the shooting died down and they got out.)

You don’t charge police and expect to live to tell about it, never, ever. Exceptions include; Toddler’s running in a onesie, Elderly, half crippled, clinically obese, and in a motorized wheelchair person, charging police with their red-tipped walking stick raised high into the air. Ex-Miss America contestants charging police with their cell phone raised up in the air, and wearing an Itsy Bitsy, Teeny Weeny, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, that she allegedly wore for the first time that day.
Does the lady say LaVoy took off?

There are conflicting accounts of this matter with the woman in the vehicle saying Finicum was not charging FBI and police.
Ammon Bundy told the story that way when he called his wife after being arrested. Ammon Bundy told his wife that Finicum had his hands up when he was shot, that he was cooperating with police.
