During the 1980 campaign, 3rd party Anderson was excluded from the Carter/Reagan debate, so he answered the questions put to C&R on PBS or the like, standing at a podium at a studio in near real time.
Unlike Anderson, I'm sure Trump would draw more than some attention away from the debate. He could always limit his responses to the MK puff balls lobbed at those-other-than-Trump.
Or perhaps repsond to all but the MK questions.
