The Second Amendment is our only national gun law, and when it was written, they did not have a weapon of mass destruction - the AR-15, which can fire off hundreds of shots in the time a musket could only fire one.

First, there are many, way too many, national gun laws.

Second, when the Second Amendment was written, there were not roving gangs of teenage boys shooting each other and anyone else who gets in the way in all of the major cities (all of which suffer from strict gun control laws). Having a means of self defense is even more important when the government is doing nothing to enforce any of the many national gun laws against criminals.

Third, how many AR-15's are used in homicides each year? Not very damned many, but it sounds so much more reasonable if you start by confiscating the big, scary looking guns before working your way to hand guns and hunting rifles.

I could go on and on, but it is pointless. Facts are irrelevant to the gun control nuts.
