NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — A friend was betrayed over a winning lottery ticket, and now his former pal is in jail.

It happened during the frenzy over the record setting $1.6-billion Powerball jackpot in January.

Victor Castillo, 66, of the Bronx, said that what his friend did during the heat of the record drawing when everyone was lining up for tickets, was an unbelievable betrayal.

Speaking Spanish, Castillo said he has no idea why Rubeline Segura, 40, would steal a winning Powerball ticket worth $50,000 from him.
