He explained this today. He’d like to pass things through Congress following the Constitution and not by Executive Order.

We don’t know how Congressional elections will go, but at some point Dems may take back the House or Senate.

His point was he can sit down with people (like Reagan) and make things happen.

It’s been twisted a bunch on these boards, but that was his point. He’s all about results rather than noble failure.

Don’t go criticizing THE ONE!

TRUMP is perfect.

He will build the wall.

If he has to sleep with Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to get it done he will do it because he will build THE WALL.

THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL! THE WALL!

Because Paul Ryan is such a wimp that Trump knows Pelosi is the real power in the House. What ever Pelosi wants, Ryan will deliver, so all Trump has to do is convince Pelosi that, for example, his plan to repeal and replace Obamacare is the right thing to to and Ryan will toady on along.

You have to remember that Trump is a master negotiater. He’s going to get the best deals for the American people. What Congressional Republicans have been doing is capitulating. Trump will negotiate. There’s a big difference.

[Vanity] Why would Trump bother to negotiate with Pelosi?>

Why did Slick Willie team up with Republicans in Congress to pass NAFTA?

Why did Obama team up with Republicans in Congress to pass TPA, and the same would be the case with TPP.

If President Trump begins to turn back some of the one-sided trade deals and oppose any new one-sided trade deals, it will probably be almost the reverse of the above two cases.

It's Republicans who are most responsible for all the bad trades deals and equally responsible for open borders and little immigration law enforcement.

i’m not a trump guy, but maybe you’ve never played poker which is mostly about “negotiation.” in poker, you “negotiate” to win or lose less when there is no winning option. i think any politician, including pelosi, can be had. it remains to be seen if that’s what trump has in mind.

By negotiating Trump means he will them around by their nose rings just like he does the press. They will do what Trumps wants - that’s what leaders do. We haven’t seen that kind of negotiating or leadership for so long we don’t remember what it looks like.

As a successful businessman who has had to establish entities in countries less free than the US, Trump has had to deal with politicians and business people of all stripes. When he speaks about making deals, he's coming in from the perspective of a businessman; not the perspective of a politician, nor the perspective of those in this forum.

IMHO, he's trying to position himself and garner an audience different from us Freepers. Consider the venue he did the interview: MSNBC.

I go back to Newt Gingrich's advice from a few weeks or so back: If you want to understand Trump, read "The Art Of The Deal."

Maybe because she might be in a position to give him something he wants, and the way normal sentinent beings conduct business is through negotiation.

And historically, the party in control of the WH loses votes in the midterm election which would be in 2 years, so it’s not inconceivable that President Trump may need to work with Speaker Pelosi in the future.

But you know this, and just felt the need to post a pointless vanity.

When you read your replies remember they drank the koolaid. DT is the one and only perfect - they defend everything about him. They have thrown away all logic, the ability to look at his past history or present actions with clear judgement and for what? A progressive who will work with the liberals and proudly says so.

Awesome! Assuming they have a mutually GREAT relationship, I think Ms. Pelosi will endorse him as the Republican nominee.

Trump gave campaign money to Chuck Schumer and the Democrat Senatorial Committee. Why would he do that unless he thought there might be something in it for him. He cowers to democrats and tries to play both sides of the fence. Not too strong on the conservative principles I’d say.

Just because he says he can doesn’t mean he will. Trump is aiming for the “undecideds” who don’t like conflict between parties. Besides most people on FreeRepublic, few others want to hear someone say hes going to kick the other side’s butt it’s just politics.

I imagine trump negotiating with pelosi. I don’t think it’s the same type or amount of effort he would put into negotiating with someone with near or above average intelligence or moral standards
