It’s also interesting that Mike Lee has NOT stepped forward to support his fellow Senator, Rafael Cruz.

Reagan was a Republican for 20 years before he ran for president. He campaigned for conservatives, gave speeches and wrote articles espousing conservative principles, was a 2-time governor of the largest state in the Union - in other words, he had a long and well established record as a genuine conservative long before he became President. Trump seems to have decided he was a conservative in the past few years, and thinks he is qualified to be president. So don’t try to make the comparison between Reagan and Trump - it fails completely.

Cruz must be a really unlikeable guy.

Honestly, Cruz IS a nice guy. I have met him a few times helping his senatorial campaign. He is genuine in his conservative principles, and wants to make this country great just like Trump wants to..

The bad rap that he is unlikeable, is his unwavering drive not to bow down to the RINO/Obama establishment in Congress. He did EXACTLY what he said he was going to do during senate campaign, no matter how unpopular it made him with his colleagues. John McCain doesn't like me????.... I'd wear it like a badge of honor..

This campaign has been based on mud slinging perceptions, and I'd like to set the record straight, at least on this matter.

I’ve been thinking for the past several weeks that Sessions will be the VP candidate, and Cruz will become the AG while waiting to be appointed to the USSC (or, maybe, holding out for running again in 2024.

Sessions is hated by almost no one, has significantly more experience than Cruz, is solid on the immigration issue (Cruz not so much, even though he’s better than all others besides Trump), and Sessions will allow Trump to capture the entire South...just like Cruz. Let Ted go after the Clinton and the Soetero crime families like a starving pit bull released into a slaughterhouse.

Trump/Sessions 2016.

“What are you going to do when Trump goes back to being a Democrat officially?”

Trump and Cruz are completely unified on the critical necessity of having a very strong military and having both tax cuts and significant regulatory cutbacks to benefit the economy, plus significant changes to immigration that will stop the bleeding of the middle class.

If that is the kind of “Democrat” that Trump is, I’ll take it over ANYONE that now has “-D” after their name.

Probably Bush. Or Hillary. I think we should all keep in mind the the establishment loves to play tricks. They dislike the idea of either Ted or Donald. I would not put it past the GOP-e that are embedded here to have received instructions to keep both camps at each other’s throat. They no doubt still harbor the warped idea that one of their open border globalists will outlast the bloodfest.

Everybody has to make a living, so it could just be that.

I hope it means more, Ted needs a boost. Sessions is a good ally.

I’m looking forward to Ted and Trump putting the rest away and having a great discussion about how to approach the future of America.

Both men are far superior to the rest of the field including the Democrats of course.

Appreciate your perspective and comments. Perhaps Cruz is a nice guy. I don’t know the man, but the things I am learning about him are troubling. Nothing with him seems to be as it is presented. There is something very oft putting about him and he does come across (at least to me) as scripted and rehearsed. There is just something about him that I can’t place my finger on that i don’t like and I suspect a good many others in the country will feel this way as well. Before I get accused of being a RINO, a plant a troll, I’ve been on the boards since 2009 and have never voted for a Democrat in my life. Just my thoughts on Cruz. And I do not feel he is eligible to run. Not opening that Pandora’s box again but to me it’s a valid concern. Thanks again for your thoughts.

Good news for those of us who care about borders.

Concurring bump...sounds like Sen. Sessions may make an endorsement as well.

I don’t trust either of them on immigration, but I would rate Trump as the worst candidate on immigration. He is has a financial interest in amnesty.

Which Tea Party candidate did Ted Cruz campaign for in 2014?

No one. Cruz did not campaign for 1 single Tea Party candidate.

Why didn’t he show up in Mississippi to help Chris McDaniel?
Or others?
