Being a lawyer is a real job. It’s hard work to be a courtroom lawyer, and every mistake you make is in public, with a judge and your opinionated peers looking at you.
And, like being a doctor, you don’t ever really go home from your job. Your clients are your clients 24/7, and if something happens in your case on Saturday, at night, or when you are out of town, it’s still your responsibility.
Cruz really has a superlative record. And yes, he may well be the absolute best person available to re-teach the public the value of the Constitution and faithfully uphold it.

" ... he may well be the absolute best person available to re-teach the public the value of the Constitution and faithfully uphold it.".................................................. Another Hahvahd lawyer ineligible to run is going to--ahem--teach us the value of the Constitution as well as "faithfully uphold it". Yeah, heh ....

I don’t need supreme court approval to keep and bear arms. The Constitution takes care of that for me. It’s not rocket science.

Thanks to the Heller decision, more of us can exercise that right without being harassed about it. It's harder than rocket science for four of the nine justices.

He was Solicitor General of Texas. He was lead representation on the case, making the arguments directly to the Supreme Court. You should read more on his background before you make such remarks.

My apologies, I just checked. He was not the lead on that case. His brief was signed by 31 other states, making it more than just another brief. He did argue before SCOTUS nine times in total. In all cases, his words made things happen.

Open ambition was considered a sin, so all ambition had to be couched. And it's not a sin any more? The church is getting so hip!

Is ambition a sin? Hubris perhaps, but is being bitious really bad? If so, poor Mr. Trump really has some issues.

You already know the value of the Constitution. A lot of people don’t. A guy who has been paid to do it for years, even to judges who are particularly obtuse about it, might be the guy to do it.
John Adams was a Harvard lawyer. Granted, Harvard was pretty different when he attended. Maybe the challenge of going to a law school where everybody else disagrees with you is a good crucible in which to forge your committed views.
why would you distrust Cruz to uphold the Constitution? He made a living sticking up for it, and has had it memorized since he was 13.
Don’t be narrow like the liberals, who blithely assume that anyone from a school in fly-over country can’t be legit.
