Prominent South Carolina "Firewall" Democrat Drops Clinton Endorsement to Back Sanders
Slate ^ | January 25, 2016 | Ben Mathis-Lilley

Overwhelming support from black voters is said to be Hillary Clinton's "firewall" against the possibility of Bernie Sanders victories in Iowa and New Hampshire. It's the reason that she's likely to build a delegate lead by winning primaries across the South in late February and early March. As Slate's Jamelle Bouie wrote last week, Clinton's advantage in this area has been built through decades of appearances and face-to-face conversations with voters and influential figures at "black civic and community organizations, from church networks to civil rights groups." The idea is that Sanders, however appealing his policy positions might be to black Americans, does not have Hillary's level of recognition and bank of relationships to draw on. And it's with all this in mind that the New York Times' report on an endorsement switch in South Carolina (the first Southern primary, on Feb. 27) is noteworthy:

Woah...

This may be the start.

The DNC will make a deal with Sanders to make Warren VP, and then they will drop Hillary.

Half a loaf is better as far as they are concerned.

Legal battle over last batch of Clinton emails heats up

"A federal judge will weigh this week whether the State Department is allowed to delay the release of the final unpublished batch of Hillary Clinton's private emails until the end of February, after the first round of presidential primaries has occurred.

But a lawyer for Jason Leopold, the Vice News reporter who filed the Freedom of Information Act lawsuit in question last year, argued Monday that State had no grounds on which to stall the release of the emails.

"Voters should be dismayed by State's attempt to withhold from the public over 7,000 pages of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's emails documenting her tenure as the nation's top diplomat," said Ryan James, Leopold's attorney, when filing an opposition brief in federal court Monday. "If the delay State seeks is granted, over 45 million Americans in early voting states may be asked to vote without the knowledge of what these emails contain."

The State Department argued in court papers filed Friday that it had discovered, on the week of Jan. 11, thousands of pages of Clinton's emails that had never been sent to outside agencies for review, as they should have been in past months......."

Bernie still has a big gap, but it’s closing.

Will be tougher to stick Biden in at the convention to replace Hillary is Sanders picks up a few southern states. i don’t believe he will.

I just read a pointy head Democrat article not 5 minutes ago about how Hillary had the Southern blacks wrapped up and would win the nomination slowly and over time. This pokes big holes in that storyline...guess they’ll come up with a new one.

How long before the wheels come off of the Clinton bus? They appear to be getting wobbly already.

I think Democrats have a real problem on their hands. There is probably a 60% chance Hillary will get some type of indictment, and even if not, I think the message is filtering even to the brain-dead LOI that Hillary is a lying, conniving politician.

There is no way the DNC is going to let Bernie have the nomination, no way. Therefore, I do think that Biden will step in at some point as the (manufactured) white knight and he will add Hiawatha to the ticket to try and limit the Bernie Commie fallout.

If the Sultan has determined that Mrs. Bill cannot win (unlikely) or that he cannot control her once she does win (unlikely) he will use the FBI investigation to sideline her in favor of someone whom he or Vizier Jarrett can control.

The Republican problem in November is NOT which Democrat is run. The problem is the chicanery that will be far more efficient, massive, and legally protected than in past elections. Without a Republican 60% or better majority in the real legitimate citizen vote, the Democrats are apt to win the vote count.

“The DNC will make a deal with Sanders to make Warren VP, and then they will drop Hillary.”

I think they will make a deal to draft Biden and Warren.

If Bernie wins Iowa, and wins by a larger than expected margin, then wins big in New Hampshire, a lot of southern Democrats may feel that Bernie can deliver for them, and Hillary can’t.
