Where to begin?

A) I never said “by myself”.
B) You have no idea what I’ll be defending... do you? Or where it is. (And we’ll keep it that way.)
C) Some things are worth dying for.
D) “Bugging out” is pretty damn risky too. If the S really does hit the fan, there is precious little safety to be expected by anyone, anywhere.

In Vietnam there was a night when their position was overrun. The guy who was carrying a M-60 MG was on the larger side and finally decide he couldn't run any more.

So he sat down, set up the pig and started firing at the enemy. He asked all retreating AG's who were passing him to drop off their ammo.

Other guys decided they were tired too and decided to join the party.

Eventually they broke the enemy attack.

If there are people there and he is defending a position he will have help. Running is exhausting.
