Several years back it was the Communist and Socialist countries that complained about Americans use of Ethanol. Mainly they considered it a misuse of food product that the U.S could be distributing to ailing nations and in itself was contributing to higher food prices throughout the world.
When I say several years, that could mean as much as a decade or more, perhaps centered around the mid 90’s.
— I have no source but my recollection.
I do believe though that ethanol subsidies have a definite strategic advantage for the country. I just wish it would help more of the small farmers rather than the large agricorps that have been sucking up the heartland farmland for years.
As for me? I don’t buy anything with high fructose corn syrup in it, or as little as possible. Hunts has an excellent Ketchup that is high fructose corn syrup free.
***a misuse of food product that the U.S could be distributing to ailing nations***
Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. The leftists in America constantly cry how US agriculture is destroying foreign farmers by undercutting their prices and driving them into poverty with food distribution.
Now they are crying because we should be distributing food to ailing nations.
