I am not about getting money out of politics. I am about getting a little transparency back into politics. You tell me how the Ryan budget supports conservative values and I will support republican elite billionaires. But it seems your billionaires are not very conservative. They don’t really have my ideals. In fact, they really only want my vote and are happy to say anything to get it. Like Hilliary’s southern accent that shows up when she is in Birmingham, your republicans just speak with a conservative accent.

“you and others want to lump Trump supporters as a bunch of uninformed bozo’s who are incapable of thinking on their own.”

That was not my intent at all. I understand why many people support Trump for good reasons, but there are many out there who vote for president as if the election was one of those reality shows where people are voted off the island or whatever. My point is that is why Trump is so popular. He is the celebrity candidate this time around and there are a lot of people who vote based on which candidate is the cool candidate. These are the same people who think Judge Judy is on the Supreme Court.

Many people are Trump supporters because they believe he is the right candidate. My point was that there are also many others who vote for the cool guy. My comment was more about the state of the American electorate than is was about Trump.

People seem to think I’m a Cruz supporter. At this point, I don’t have a dog in this hunt. I don’t trust any politician. As I said before, we keep voting and nothing changes.

I guess that could be true, but I sure hope not. I’ve never really subscribed to the notion that people are generally oblivious sheep. The last 7 years ought to be enough to roust anybody out. And it’s hard for me to fathom- judging by some of the harsh conditions people have endured, that it’s because he’s such a big star. (Is he? I don’t know.)

Not having been to a rally yet, I don’t have an impression from the people who also attended.

Maybe Onyx or someone who has attended will chime in & give their impression of their fellow attendees.

I can’t argue with not trusting any politician. And it’s certainly been true that nothing changes no matter what we do. I do think Trump’s heart is in the right place & that he’s as ticked off as the rest of us. Ultimately, it will be up to us. We have to do our part. Trump is only our champion.

May you get home to Texas as soon as you can.

I understood your point very clearly, and I respectfully disagree with your assertion. He garners so much support because his message is resonating with so many people that are tired of the political correctness and weak-kneed responses to any negative comments thrown in their direction. He has beaten the GOP establishment, the press, an well as the "conservative" talking heads, at their own game. That has generated respect for the man, who is seen as not only a successful businessman, but also as someone who unafraid of criticism, and is strong enough to counter it and come out on top. In other words he does not back down and apologize for his statements. Instead he does not waver and he continues his narrative unabated.

Now Berne & Hillary supporters would more aptly fit into the type of supporters you describe. For they truly are people who get all caught up in the personality game to select their leaders. They closely follow what the people are saying about them, rather than what they actually think about them. That is why Bernie is gaining steam, and Hillary is sinking like a rock.

My opinion is influenced by the fact that I was getting my hair done on the day of the last presidential election, and all the giggly girls there were excited about voting. I got the impression that it might as well have been an episode of the Dating Game.

If the American people were as informed and astute as Freepers, then we wouldn’t have the elected officials we have now. That includes some Republicans.

:-) Okay. I understand. lol Dingbats will be dingbats- just like boys. You must be referring to His Munificence & The Butt, Herself.

If only. I can only think of about 4 republicans I would keep off the top of my head. Personally, I think Washington needs to be cleared down to the custodians & cafeteria ladies. And maybe some of the cafeteria ladies might ought to go, too.

I understand, it just seemed like you were painting with an awfully wide brush. In my case, when I was younger, I was not very astute with regards to politics mainly because my load of the share was minimal, and I assumed they had America's best interest in mind. However, as I got older I started to realize the politicians were not about doing what was best for America or her citizens, and the impacts on me got greater.

I wouldn't be for Trump if I thought this was all about him. I believe him to be sincere about his love and concern for this country. I may be wrong. I fell the same way about Cruz, and I may be wrong about him too. But life does not come with a crystal ball, at least for me, so sometimes we have to go with our gut feelings. I feel Trump can win the general election over any Democrat they chose as their candidate.

Perhaps he is not the solution, but he certainly appears to be an adequate solvent.

We need solvent at this point.
