“Out of the roughly 2,000 weapons sold through Fast and Furious, 34 were .50-caliber rifles that can take down a helicopter, according to officials.”

Yeah, they could do that, but the M-82 is a long-range sniper rifle in the US Military. It’s big and heavy and would be hard to use to take down an aircraft. It has a bi-pod and a high-power scope sight for a reason. Just more government lying gloing on here.

As you noted, this was intended to be a long range sniper rifle.

One of my good friends was a virgin helicopter pilot in Nam, and his copter was shot down with an AK 47. He lived and learn to let his gunners clear any area before coming into range of an AK 47.
