I was not a fan of hers, years ago-and can’t say I’m a huge fan now. I think she needs someone to help her write speeches, so they are a bit more pointed and on-topic. Some people just aren’t great at speaking on the fly, and she’s an example of one.
But for certain conservative-type outlets to pretend like they don’t know why she might be absent, considering her son’s service record and health history—is beyond the pale.
We expect that from the lunatic left. But our own side? Not!
One of my problems with her was the 2012 tease at running, knowing that she had done nothing in four years to prepare for it.
No voice coach in sight, for one thing, and no known relationship with heavy hitters in foreign policy, economics, etc., over the course of that intervening four years. You had to know she wanted to run but couldn’t possibly.
On the voice thing, Hillary had the very same shrill problem as Palin, and no one sees even a hint of that in Hillary now. Hillary was serious about contending and therefore bothered to improve her speaking skills and try to reduce her deficits.
I remember Hillary also was addicted to saying “you know”, after every point, and now that has been replaced with the lofty sounding “Ahh” after every point. LOL!
Palin never bothered with trying to improve, but surely had plenty of PAC money, I would assume, to afford a team around her to arm her well for a 2012 try. Instead, she bought a house in Phoenix she seldom ever used.
THAT voice is going to kill her legacy and her reputation, and she is never going to fix it.
