Jan 18, 2016: Southern Baptist Leader Endorses Ted Cruz for President

"Republican presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) has received the endorsement of another key evangelical leader in his bid for the White House. Dr. Tommy Kelly, outgoing president of the South Carolina Southern Baptist Convention and the pastor of Varnville First Baptist Church, made the announcement Friday, then joined Cruz for a rally at North Greenville University that evening. More than 2,100 churches in the early voting state are part of the SCSBC, which has a membership of 750,000 statewide....

The Cruz camp says more than 400 pastors and religious leaders have endorsed his presidential campaign. But the endorsement of the leader of the first state Southern Baptist Convention is important."....

Gee, I wish I could find some way to bash this guy like you deranged Cruzbots do to everyone who endorses Trump. Just because this guy endorses him, doesn’t mean all Southern Baptists are going to vote for him. However, I do think Ted would make a fine pastor - and that might be his true calling - not to be the president, but to be a pastor.

News out of Lefty Seattle:

Jan 18, 2016: Anti-feminist, anti-sex education, anti-gay Eagle Forum leaders endorse Ted Cruz

"Top leaders of the Eagle Forum, a group self-described as "the alternative to women's liberation," on Monday endorsed Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for the Republican presidential nomination.

The endorsement gives Cruz a link with a long-ago GOP candidate from the Republican right to which he is often compared, 1964 Republican nominee Sen. Barry Goldwater.

The Eagle Forum, organized by conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly, fought ratification of the federal Equal Rights Amendment, has opposed sex education in schools, fought against marriage equality and stood in opposition to expanded immigration - an issue cited by 20 of its leaders as they endorsed Cruz.

"While establishment Republicans led the charge for amnesty and betrayed the trust of those who elected them, Ted Cruz fought to uphold the law and defend our borders," the group's endorsement statement read.

In turn, Cruz showered praise on the Eagle Forum's 91-year-old founder. "Phyllis Schlafly has given me so much good advice over the years, and I admire the courage of grassroots activists carrying on her great work," he said in a statement."...

That’s so great! Looks like the Church Leaders are getting behind Cruz in a big way....not really surprising...they understand fully what is at stake.

CW, it’s nice for the Cruz campaign that some pastors have endorsed Ted Cruz. But why on this thread? This thread is about a clever take on a picture and those who are there listening to Cruz.
