Donald Trump is running as Christianityâs savior. And it might work.

But even if Trump is not a very good Christian in the eyes of some evangelical leaders, the Times interviews with evangelical voters suggest that Trumpâs personal morality may not matter much to them. Instead, Trumpâs success among evangelical voters may be rooted in the fact that, more than any other GOP candidate, Trump is able to speak to their sense of being under siege. Trump somehow conveys that he understands on a gut level that both Christianity and the country at large are under siege, and whatâs more, he is not constrained by politically correct niceties from saying so and proposing drastic measures to reverse this slide into chaos and godlessness.
This posting from the WP is an excerpt. I forgot to click that box that states as such.
The interesting this is that Putin is also claiming to be a savior of Christianity as well...
Which while I doubt that putin is actually a christian, his message is resonating in russia....
Anytime the morons at the Compost try to speak on Christianity - they may as well piss in the wind.
They don’t know what they’re talking about and they’re just all wet.
“But even if Trump is not a very good Christian in the eyes of some evangelical leaders, “
Evangelicals better remind themselves of Jimmy Carter, who they helped elect merely because he claimed to be a Christian.
“Christianity” or “Judeo-Christian Culture’s Savior”?
Even an atheist can understand that we abandon Judeo-Christian culture at our peril.
Donald Trump is one of the last people I would look to for religious values and inspiration.
Trump—Saint
Reminds me of the righteous Christian Brits who hated Winston Churchill because he smoked cigars, drank whiskey, and used occasional profanity. We need an Alpha male more than ever.
Anyone claiming to be Christian and reading what Trump had to say about asking forgiveness (it’s for them other suckers cause he is above that) better be voting for Trump for some other reason.
As some of us have commented before, the coming RE-ACTION to the ongoing muslim INVASION of the West could easily push the events in Nazi Germany into the back pages of future history books. Bill Whittle explains WHY TRUMP is EN FUEGO and all of that in this excellent and riveting 9 minute video.
When it starts in the U.S., it will make those activities look like â to borrow a phase â JV squad stuff!
Trump- the guy who threw Christian Kim Davis under the bus, hasn’t opposed new york’s jihad against Christian business owners who don’t perform gay marriage, the guy who’s been silent for decades on govt discrimination of Christians now is its defender...trump playing to peoples fantasies
We aren’t voting for a Pope.
Come to think of it, Trump would be an improvement over Francis.

Pretty apt for Trump as well.
I’ve never seen him look so uncomfortable as he did when he was pandering mightily to the students at Liberty U.
You Sir, have the gift of understatement!
Didn’t Revelations say something about this? Just sayin’. ;)

Maybe Trump would turn the the selection of the Pope into a show like Survivor.
Now THAT I would watch.
Very apt. As an evangelical; I can only laugh at what passes for his faith...
Anyone claiming to be Christian and reading what Trump had to say about asking forgivenessPost the quote smartass.
This nonsense of asking and receiving forgiveness is just a license to sin for most of you hypocrites.

Moderator Frank Luntz asked Trump whether he has ever asked God for forgiveness for his actions.
“I am not sure I have. I just go on and try to do a better job from there. I don’t think so,” he said. “I think if I do something wrong, I think, I just try and make it right. I don’t bring God into that picture. I don’t.”
Trump said that while he hasn’t asked God for forgiveness, he does participate in Holy Communion.
“When I drink my little wine — which is about the only wine I drink — and have my little cracker, I guess that is a form of asking for forgiveness, and I do that as often as possible because I feel cleansed,” he said. “I think in terms of ‘let’s go on and let’s make it right.'”
