EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager said Monday the tax advantage given to a select group of mainly European companies "distorts competition" by putting smaller competitors "on an unequal footing."

"National tax authorities cannot give any company, however large, however powerful an unfair competitive advantage compared to others," Vestager said. "This scheme puts smaller competitors at an unfair disadvantage." ...

Very imperialistic language out of Vestager. National tax authorities cannot set tax rates within their national borders, really? OK then; everyone across the globe now has to raise corporate tax rates to the same absurdly-high levels as the USA.

“EU Competition Commissioner Margrethe Vestager.” Elected or appointed? Another reason the EU should not exist and will not in a few years.

looks like the EU will now set the tax rates for all countries in the EU. Next they will run each counrty’s military and court system

Why bother having national elections when the EU is the sole authority over all

All Commissioners are appointed. They also have to swear a loyalty oath to the EU and its agenda, even to work against their native countries for that sake.

I wonder if these “rules” apply to EU multinationals fighting the USA?

Airbus, Maersk, the list can grow very quickly.

How about tax break for communist unions and EU conglomerates?
