I usually overpay because I would rather get a check than write one. It might be time to rethink that plan.
Before I retired, every January I worked out an estimate of what my taxes would be for the year. I usually got back (from the Gov.’t) a check for $1.39, $2.00, etc. Now that I’m retired, I get big checks back because of all the rules, adjustments, etc. I don’t like it but as I said to my GF there is no way to estimate the adjustments, rules, etc.
