That is the answer as to how President Obama can transfer Guantanamo detainees to prisons on the U.S. mainland despite the fact that Congress expressly prohibited this. However, kudos to Jake Tapper on The Lead today for questioning the legality of such a transfer during an interview with an equally skeptical CNN Pentagon Correspondent, Barbara Starr.

congress should appeal to the USSC. Then “irish south american kids” roberts can deny the appeal, and the problem is resolved!

Legality? What difference does it make?
Our fathers fought to make this country great. It is not fair to them to ruin what they fought and died for.
The bigger problem is the legality of incarcerating anyone in Gitmo under these circumstances in the first place.
