Then your assertion is that they surrendered without a fight and that they’re cowards?
“Then your assertion is that they surrendered without a fight and that theyâre cowards?”
That is your assumption of my assertion. You claimed that they were ordered to stand down. I was simply asking for the source to formulate my opinion whichever way the truth guides it.
Do some of you people (not you) need a freaking picture drawn for you?
I suspect (don’t know for sure) that their ROE prevented them from engaging when they were approached. If thie boats entered Iranian water then the ragheads were within their rights to interdict them. However, a simple radio call would have been appropriate instead of an armed encounter. If the riverines were in International water then we owe the ragheads an armed response if one of their vessels get too close to our Battle Group. Not necessary to sink them but enough to let them know it’s not a good idea. Even that is probably prevented buy the ROE the BG is operating under. As for the Skipper issuing an apology, he was under duress. His crew was stone faced. He didn’t do anything wrong but his career is effectively over. My $.02.
