Footage of sailors on the floor, with hands behind their heads surrounded by Iranian guards has been released It was aired on the Islamic republic's state television after the Navy personnel were freed following a standoff When the sailors were taken off of the boats in the Persian Gulf, they were questioned by the IRGC Later the captives were pictured looking relaxed while sitting on a big carpet sharing plates of food and water One of the sailors was filmed apologizing for their unit's 'mistake' and praised the Iranian's 'fantastic' behavior A female sailor with the group was given a makeshift head scarf to wear while they enjoyed the meal Reports by state media inside Iran stated the U.S. issued a grovelling apology before the sailors were freed However John Kerry's spokesman said there is 'zero truth' to reports the Secretary of State said sorry Kerry did however tell Tehran the release of the sailors would be a 'good story' for both the countries

I wouldn’t be all surprised if Obama is pleased with this or even had a hand in it - a small vignette of American power humbled by anti-colonial, 3rd world community activists.
Plus he can gain short-term political points for getting them released “quickly.”

Ten American military personnel were arrested and detained by Iran on Tuesday, and President Barack Obama said not a word about it during his final State of the Union address on Tuesday evening.
His administration swore up and down that Iran was just doing a solid for our sailors and Marines, whose boats, we are told, had apparently broken down. Obama’s spokesman said the capture and detention of American servicemen and servicewomen were exactly why we had to lift sanctions on Iran and bless its enrichment of uranium. His surrogates whispered to media allies that rather than provoking the Iranians to attack the U.S., Obama’s nuclear deal really made it possible for the U.S. to free its captured personnel who never should have been in Iranian custody in the first place.
The Obama administration gave us its word that Iran had no “hostile intent” when it captured ten Americans, forced their surrender at gunpoint, and then demanded an American apology for the whole affair.
And then Iran released these photos of the nine men and one woman who were arrested at sea by the Iranians.

Exactly- even if it was several warships- why the hell did they surrender? What would iran do? Kill the soldiers and risk their %150 BILLION the us is going to allow them to get? Risk an all out war with the US? But the fact that they surrendered to such a pathetic Iranian crew tells me this was planned so that dear leader would look good for his do nothing offensive policy of leading from behind- He now gets to tout his idiotic policy by claiming that being nice to them prevented an ugly incident-

Iranian state TV has rerun a video clip of one of the held U.S. sailors apologizing for the intrusion into Iranian territorial waters.
In the footage, filmed before the sailors were released on Wednesday, the sailor says: “It was a mistake. That was our fault and we apologize for our mistake.”
The sailor is not identified by name in the clip but the TV interviewer says he is the “commander” of the group seized by the Iranians. He is then asked if the sailors’ GPS had alerted them about the intrusion, to which he replies, “I believe so.”
The U.S. Central Command later said the “video appears to be authentic but we cannot speak to the conditions of the situation or what the crew was experiencing at the time.”
