Laxalt will serve as Chairman of the Cruz campaign in Nevada

HOUSTON, Texas - Today, the Ted Cruz for President campaign announced that Cruz has received the endorsement of Nevada's leading elected conservative and Iraq War veteran, Attorney General Adam P. Laxalt. Nevada's caucuses take place on Tuesday, February 23rd, and Laxalt has agreed to take on the role as Nevada Chairman of the Cruz for President campaign.

Adam Laxalt Endorses Ted Cruz (Video)

"After meeting with many of the Republican candidates for President and carefully considering their respective candidacies for office, I am proud to put my full faith, confidence and support behind Ted Cruz for President of the United States," Laxalt stated. "Ted Cruz will fight to reverse the harmful trends of this administration. We can no longer sit back and watch Washington leaders - from both parties - continue running up record deficits and debt, while rapidly growing government and its overbearing encroachment into our daily lives. Taking on entrenched bureaucrats and special interests requires courage, focus and determination. Many of our federal programs are inefficient, unfocused and unaccountable. I believe Ted Cruz has the necessary courage, focus and determination to get the job done. Like Ronald Reagan did in 1980, Ted Cruz will sweep in a new, courageous conservative movement and bring back the optimism and pride we once shared."

"I am truly honored to receive Adam's endorsement," said Cruz. "Adam has proven himself to be a great leader for Nevada. He is a principled conservative who has a great respect for our Constitution and the rule of law. Our campaign to reignite the promise of America has earned the support of thousands of courageous conservatives in Nevada, and Adam taking charge as our campaign chairman in the Silver State adds great momentum."

Laxalt is widely considered to be the top conservative in Nevada. He becomes chairman of the Nevada operation, which continues to gain the backing of conservatives throughout the state. Cruz has enlisted a grassroots organization consisting of congressional representative chairs in Nevada, as well as county chairs for all 17 Nevada counties, and 25 city/town chairs. In addition, the Nevada campaign has enlisted hundreds of precinct chairs and thousands of volunteers, donors and supporters.

Earlier this morning I called Laxalt’s office and posted on his FB page how disappointed and angry I am with this and that he has lost any future vote from me.

I fully supported Laxalt in his run for Attorney General on the understanding that he understood and supported the laws of my state and my country.

Supporting someone who is clearly not eligible for President is contrary to my beliefs and principles.

You won’t vote for Cruz but will vote for a pimp (Dennis Hof). Tells me all I need to know about you right there.

Dennis Hof is a natural born citizen - of course that doesn’t matter, it isn’t a qualification for the position he is running for.

I have known Mr. Hof for close to 20 years. He and his businesses are tremendous supporters of the community and always have been.

In addition, Mr. Hof runs a LEGAL business in Nevada.

Well put.

I just learned Hof has ended his attempt to get Harry Reid’s dog elected to the Senate and is instead attempting to throw control of the Nevada State Senate back to the democrats, he’s switched to running for an open GOP State Senate Seat.

This comes on the heels of a GOP Assemblyman, John Moore, switching to the LP and running for reelection under that banner. I wouldn’t be surprised to find dem money behind it all.

Mr. Laxalt will survive somehow, without your vote or the votes of those who read their own wishes into the Constitution.

All that is necessary to be a NBC is to have ONE US citizen parent OR be born in the United States. Obozo's mother was an American citizen by birth as was/is Cruz's mom. Having been born in Vancouver therefore does not diminish his status. The rest of us are moving on. You can join us or stay where you are if Cruz is the nominee. I understand the idea of voting one's conscience, beliefs and principles. I refused to support Romney for reasons a LOT more important than where he was born or whether his father (born in Mexico) was ever naturalized after his parents moved to Mexico in an apparent attempt to abandon US citizenship over the federal ban on polygamy as a condition of Utah's admission to the Union.

The Constitution of the United States is the Constitution of the United States whatever any of us might prefer. It does not matter that some obscure Swiss political philosopher expressed his academic OPINION as to "the law of nations" years before the Constitution was written.

It does not matter that Michigan Senator Jacobs (?) the US Senate sponsor of the 14th Amendment wrote in a private letter to a friend in saying that the amendment was only meant to effect citizenship rights of freed former slaves. What matters and mattered is the actual Constitutional text both as originally ratified and as amended by Amendment XIV. There is NO AMBIGUITY. In the absence of ambiguity, there is no occasion for courts or anyone else to ignore the wording to interpret the wording as what one might prefer the Founding Fathers and authors of Amendment XIV had written and enacted rather than what they actually wrote and enacted.

Hence, Cruz is quite eligible for POTUS as a NBC as was Obozo before him and McCain (born in Panama) and the man I have hated most in American politics: Lowell P. Weicker, Jr., (born in Paris while his citizen parents were there on business).

You are, of course, entitled to your opinion and to act accordingly. I confess that I am a LOT more concerned about baby-killing, perversion posing as "marriage," gun grabbing, the exporting of blue collar jobs, etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum, ad nauseam, but, hey, that's just me.

Is this Dennis Hof character an actual pimp (”legal” or otherwise)? This Illinois conservative would like to know.

You are right, Mr Laxalt is free to do as he likes. His constituents don’t seem happy with his decision. Quite a few of them as a matter of fact.

Dennis Hof is the owner of the Bunny Ranch in Moundhouse, NV. I believe he has other legal houses of prostitution also. He also owns a restaurant and did have a TV show I think.
