Trump, Cruz Prove Establishment Is Dead for 2016
Newsmax ^ | Rich Lowry

Posted on 01/12/2016 8:21:09 AM PST by RoosterRedux

The establishment hasn't been in a position to impose a candidate on the party on a long time. But if it coalesces around a standard-bearer, it gives him the tools -- chiefly money and endorsements -- to persuade enough of the Republican electorate to nominate him.

*snip*

This time the establishment, at least a large complement of its donors, picked Bush, who turned out not to have the strength to scare competitors out of the race or to maintain a dominant position in the race.

Now the establishment is at sea, dazed and confused by the rise of Trump and powerless to stop him or, for the moment, even to influence the race.

Some donors are afraid of being called a loser by Trump if they organize an effort against him. Others calculate that if they try to hurt Trump now, it will only help Cruz, who they worry might be as or more unelectable. And there is no clear alternative to Trump or Cruz, with other top candidates splitting support roughly evenly in New Hampshire.

Rarely has an establishment been so reviled and such a nonfactor. 2016 might be the year it goes down without a fight.

2016 will be the year the GOPee actively campaigns for the ‘Rat.

I don’t think that’s true. I think moderate Republicans will get behind Cruz once his victory is inevitable.

Something Trump & Cruz supporters can firmly agree.

Yep, as I have said before, the GOPe would rather lose to the ‘Rat than win with Trump or Cruz. But then, they might consider it a win with the ‘Rat.

I think many GOPeers will go full Cochran on Trump or Cruz in the general.

In politics everything is dead until it rises again.

I don’t know if he “gets” it yet, but he is getting close.
I see he still uses the “unelectable” adjective. Once he drops that, he will GET IT.

I will tell you when the establishment lost their luster - during that one debate when Ted Cruz spoke up and led all of the candidates to stand up to the media.

It may not have appeared to have done much but believe me the establishment were at that point irrelevant.

Can we stab the GOPe through the heart with a wooden stake just to make sure those bloodsuckers don’t come back?

And this is why the GOPe establishment is lost and will never find their way again:

“Some donors are afraid of being called a loser by Trump if they organize an effort against him.”

Oh to be called a “loser” by Trump! Rather he’d say “You’re fired!” to them!

The establishment is owned by The Cheap Labor Express and has been working against the citizens and the rule of law.

The citizens have had enough.

We want enforcement of our laws and borders.

Lowry missed it.

The establishment doesn’t fear Cruz because he might lose, they fear Cruz because he might WIN.

Cruz would be the end of Lowry’s Uniparty.

“Lowry gets it.”

But he’s still a worthless GOPe turd who routinely puts his mouth in gear before engaging his brain!
