This being Texas, I hope to see quite different expressions on their faces after the trial and sentencing. I’m sure that mammy, auntie, granny, etc, will be falling out on the floor of the courtroom while they cry out “Oh Lawdy, my baby dindu nuffins, he wuz just about to be a Rose Scholar”. That’s gonna wipe those smirks right off the faces of the ferals. And when Texas sentences someone to death, that doesn’t mean functionally a life sentence while the killer files appeal after appeal. I just bet they won’t be remotely feeling like smirking when they start getting strapped down to the table and having the IVs hooked up, and that’s more humane than they deserve, when they can sit in a courtroom where most likely family members/loved ones of their victim are also, and smirk and show no remorse. So, no pity for them.

I find I’m in need of more immediate gratification. Let’s see their smiling facing at breakfast the morning after their first night with their cellmates Big Bubba and Tiny.
