According to Democrats (and Jeb Bush), the nuclear triad is Iran, North Korea and (pick one)...

No, it's the hot sauces he puts into his salsa bowls. Columba will send you the recipes if you make a large enough donation.

I would not call the triad obsolete, but I would say a very dated concept. The Bomber aspect of the triad never ever fully developed, even in the cold war. Bush is grasping here, I am pretty sure Trump knows we have nukes and they are in silo’s, plane and subs... I am a Cruz supporter... I am way more concerned about Trump’s lack of knowledge with trade complexities, support of the Kelo decision and lack of foundation with federalism and limited government than I am the nuclear Triad.

Try o find out about. Even Trump can figure it out. It isn’t like it is a difficult context. That is what you pay the Joint Chiefs of Staff for.

Yeah, I mean why should Trump spend time learning these types of things? He’s a busy man.

Another thing is that at his age it’s hard to learn new things. He should let his Joint Chiefs worry about stuff like nuclear weapons.

If Hewitt actually cared about Trump’s understanding of our nuclear arsenal, he would have asked him about our delivery systems for nuclear weapons. Instead, he decided to play a gotcha vocab game with Trump. How irrelevant. Bill O’Reilly said on TV that he didn’t know what that was either.

(I find it kind of funny that I’ve come across several people online who are making fun of Trump for not knowing what the “nuclear trident” is—apparently they weren’t familiar enough with the term “nuclear triad” to even remember it themselves.)

Well clearly you don’t know anything about the readiness of the B-52, B-1, and B -2 bomber force, not to mention the Minuteman III. Do you even read Aviation News & Space?

I know that there are fewer than a hundred “combat coded” bombers of all kinds, and that was some years ago. In addition there have been numerous reports of high uncervicability.
Of these, less than 20 are functional “combat coded” B2s - and I suspect less than a dozen are servicable, and at least half will be down at any time. If they needed to scramble what is left of the mighty old SAC, against Chinese strategic targets, how many B2s would take off ? 6?
