Collectively speaking, the coarser pop entertainers have abilities (e.g. play their instruments) that rise to the level of being artistic. A few years ago, the media mouthpieces started calling them artists. I'm old fashioned. I don't consider a jar filled with urine and containing a statuette of Christ to be art, to have aesthetic qualities.

Neither does anyone else on this board. What does that have to do with Bowie?

Stop thinking collectively and making collective judgments and you'll be better able to pick out the artists from the mere attention-seekers. This is a conservative forum. Collectivism doesn't go well here.

“Collectivism doesn’t go well here”

“Collective” has more than one definition, enlightened one.

I would never attempt to speak for all people on this board.
